5 weeks later and nothing to show for it!

Needed to quickly rant... I'm pretty sure my Wicked Edge Sharpening system was supposed to be dropped off but no one was home to sign for it. 500 bucks, more than a month wait and a tag from UPS on my door. UGH.

Oooooh, I feel your frustration for sure. I am on egg shells until my order arrives and when it does not...BAM! I get all kinds of angry, pissed, frustrated, and edgy cause the addiction has not been fed!

Well, good luck to ya and I hope you get it soon.

Hang in there, brother. I too have experienced your frustration with UPS. Hope it arrives soon!

$600.00?! Really? That's retarded. I just had lots of fun with FedEx - I know where you're coming from.

    - best wishes, Jazz.

waiting sucks, had a para m390 and PPT coming, got held by customs for 2 weeks, the thing that peeved me off was it was shipped express and took longer than priority

a little over 5 hundred, I didn't mean the 6 I'll fix it.. I got the ProKit 1 for 390, some extra strops with compounds and the course stones not sold with the kit. Add that plus shipping which I thought was the most expensive part and it all came to $530 IIRC. I'll make the money back, i'm not worried about that... I just don't like waiting. I've already got some buddies with some orders lined up (once I'm competent with the system) that should yield me a few bucks to get me on my way. I paid for my Sharpmaker 10 times over the same way.

Good to hear, but me, I really don't like couriers anymore. Who's home in the day? I prefer mail. At least I can get to my post office when I get home. That's how my knives come from Warriors and Wonders.

    - best wishes, Jazz.

You're telling me, I think shipping cost over 30 bucks. I'd have picked it up for that kinda money and made a road trip out of it if I could.

I typically prefer USPS. The times I've had to go to UPS to get something has not been pleasant.

The UPS office is about a 40 minute drive away and has crazy hours and a long line. Like, you have to show up at 8:00 pm and if you don't get there early and wait, you will have a 30 person line and they do one person at a time and never have an easy time finding people's stuff.

It's worth the wait Fro0chie. I ordered mine directly from W.E. and waited for a few weeks for the order to be fulfilled. I was as happy as a clam when they showed up. I didn't want to pay for shipping on a custom base, so I opted to mount it to an old 2" rock-maple cutting board with some non-skid feet on the bottom.

One thing you might want to investigate is getting some small plastic boxes to store your stones/strops in. You can use small fishing tackle boxes - but I found some small art supply storage boxes as the Container Store. This helps keep your stones protected and keeps your strops from contaminating each other...

Thank you Ted, I actually had read something similar about cases through their forums and saw someone found a case at Cabelas. I have some small Pelican cases in the garage from my computer days and I'm sure I'll come up with something. I didn't think of a craft box though, good idea for sure.
