So I was just wondering which of your production (not custom) folder EDC's do friends and
co-workers tend to compliment you on?
If I had to guess, I would say either the Sage 1, Sage 4, or
the Gayle Bradley.

When I was working, it was always my Kiwis. They all got some, but this one probably got the most...
These two were always good for more than their share as well...

I think most compliments in a day will come for a fancy knife, not necessarily the best quality. Having said that, I think The Deacon cheats. He has more quality beautiful knives than anyone I know (almost) or have heard about.
For me, it has been the Chaparral. I think I would have gotten the same reaction if I had the Sage1 or GB at the time. I am unsure about the Sage4 getting noticed as much. It's beauty IMO comes from the quality more than appearance. It is a beautiful knife but I doubt if anyone who never thinks about knives will really notice it. I might be wrong. But, if anyone does notice it and asks to hold it (and I actually let them) that's when they will appreciate the smoothness, solid lock-up, etc.
At the moment the Sage4 has the most qulalities I want in one knife. However it doesn't scream it's presence which is actually one of the features I like. Great great knife.
I could (and have) say the same about the GB. I cut a hamburger yesterday with the Sage4 and the little extra length of the GB blade would have been nice. Please don't worry, the Sage4 got the job done.

MY CURRENT EDC
Sage4: Now with black linen (micarta) scales, stonewashed blade and bolsters
Chaparral 2
Manbug (G-10): Now has desert-camo kirinite scales, ZDP-189 blade ground to a Jester-like spine, stonewashed blade and bolsters
Fenix LD01 (single AAA flashlight) clips to Manbug FOB
I recently received multiple compliments on a Cricket. Handy little bugger.
My ZDP ladybug gets the most compliments, even from the ladies. Who said "bigger is better?"

I get the most comments when I carry my Dodo. It is an interesting looking knife.
When I lend one out, the zdp stretch gets the best feedback as that one is really sharp.
Of all the Spydies I have shown my knife bros and gear heads at work, the black SE Ladybug got the most compliments. All of them loved how the lil knife felt good in their hands and that it was a locking knife. Go figure, the TI Millie, Sage 2, Orange Para 2, were all hits, but that lil Ladybug got more ooooh's and ahhh's than the rest of em.
Believe it or not, my little orange Urban...
I guess folks think it is "cute" or something...

I'm discrete and keep them in my pocket when in public. Some people are too weird with it for me to want to deal with. If anyone see's anything it's the new Cricket I bought to use as a money clip. One guy checked it out today but didn't say anything. Thats the best I got.![]()
...I have no knives I keep in a safe but there are one or two that don't leave the house...
Sage2, Sage4, and Para2 DLC are the ones in my collection that get the most compliments.
Non knife person noticed how ridiculously smooth my m390 military is,
My Gayle Bradley gets the most compliments from the guys at work.
Current: Para2's Brown, Blue & Orange, Etched Spin, CF Caly3 ZDP189, Gayle Bradley, UKPK Orange G10, Manix2 M4, Sage 1, Caly 3.5 in Super Blue, Urban Orange G10
My Blue Manix2 gets noticed quite a bit but every time I deploy my waved Delica out of my pocket, heads turn.
Knives and compliments don't seem to mix too well nowadays. The Kris rarely goes unnoticed though.
I don't know if you can call it a compliment, but I get more questions from people about my poliwog, but usually its something like "what the heck is that?" or "who makes a knife like that?" Its provoked some interesting discussions.
The important thing was that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time. You couldn't get white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...
I honestly can't remember the last time, if ever, i got a compliment on a knife i carry. The other day at work i had a coworker ask if my Military was a Gerber, i laughed and said "light years away from being a Gerber" lol.
