What steel for CF Dodo

Anybody know what steel will be used in the CF Dodo, I've heard both S90V and S30V, hopefully Sal will chime in and let us know for sure. If its S90V for sure I'll probably have to order one.

I'll be all over it either way, but if Spydercos' making the knife premium with the CF, might as well use the premium steel too!

I'd love to be a steel snob here, but honestly I would love ALMOST anything OTHER than S30V.

The listing on GPK states this knife is made in the US. I love the American-made carbon fiber scales - here's hoping for peel-ply. No mention of steel choice, but from the $100 difference in MSRP, one cannot be sure. I would guess it's S30V, but that's quite a jump for CF scales. I don't know of any direct comparisons in previous models to be sure about the CF premium. Finally, the model number - C80CFP - has no optional steel designation. These are just educated guesses...
I'll pick one up anyway - after purchasing an orange Sprint, I became a new convert!


(off topic, but it looks like GPK no longer accepts pre-orders for any Spyderco Sprint Runs. This should mitigate the pre-order problem many people face with the popular Sprints.)

Just pre-ordered one. Based on the street price (~$200) I would guess that it isn't S30V.

According to the pre-order Howe has put up for the DODO CF this will have plain old S30V as blade steel. It's a nice knife in CF with the white ceramic ball but it would have liked to have seen a more exotic steel. Specially seen the price at Howe's is a wooping $185

Imho, S30V is just fine, but hope it's going to be peel-ply. Even if the smooth CF looks beautiful, it's a bit slippy... although the shape of the Dodo's handle is grippy by itself.
