SHARPEN IT LIKE YOU LOVE IT, USE IT LIKE YOU HATE IT.

I was selling a Fender Jaguar back in the eighties and when I went in this guy's basement he had a line of Marshall stacks along one entire wall in chronological order.
I was a Fender guy myself, but respected the fact that Marshall put out an amp that went to 11.
Our reason is quite satisfied, in 999 cases out of every 1000 of us, if we can find a few arguments that will do to recite in case our credulity is criticized by someone else. Our faith is faith in someone else's faith, and in the greatest matters this is most the case.

Awwww mannn... just found out yesterday;
I was actually thinking about this and when it might happen a few weeks back.
Touched millions upon millions of lives in so many ways; what a legendary, iconic and powerful man.
Inspired so many countless others and still making dreams become realities since 1962. Changed my life monumentally from long back -- 2 full vintage stacks on one wall of the studio; use the heads config'd as master / slave.
Rest In Peace, "Saint Jim".

I'm going to date myself here in a very humiliating wayIt was January in 1972 when I got the esteemed priviledge of seeing "DEEP PURPLE" in concert here in Kansas City at Memorial Hall on their "In Rock tour".
I will never forget the stacks of MARSHALL amplifiers that Richie Blackmore, Ian Gillian, Jon Lord, Ian Paice & Roger Glover blasted their powerhouse tunes through. I was sold then on Marshall amps and I still think they are about the best.
Oh what wonderful memories I have of several of my favorite rock bands who used MARSHALL amps almost exclusively.
Not to mention Brother Jimi Hendrix at the Monterey Pop Festival playing his version of "WILD THING" through his own mountain of MARSHALL amps and then setting his Fender Stratocaster on fire at the conclusion of the song. OH how precious American history can be at times.
JIM Marshall Rest in Peace Sir>> you've earned it
Long Live the SPYDEREDGE Spyderco Hawkbills RULE!!
Yes RIP Jim Marshall. Definitely a pioneer in his industry. He really was a sound guy.
As a life-long musician (though not the guitar) this is sad news indeed. My father is quite the connoisseur of classic vacuum tube based electronics, and he always told me about the quality workmanship and technology that went into Mr. Marshall's amps. During the late-1960's and through the 1970's, my father spent countless hours building, repairing, and appreciating Marshall amps and heads. Being in and around Boston, there was no shortage of musicians to talk to and jam with - they all couldn't wait until they "hit it big" and were able to afford a single Marshall amp and head. Back then, Marshall amps were extremely expensive, but with a presence that could not be duplicated. You could buy a complete set of Fender amps and heads for two guitars and bass for the price of the top-of-the-line single Marshall stack.
God Bless, Mr. Marshall.
I guess God needed you on-hand to rock out with His Heavenly Band!![]()
