    Car Burglary

Woke up to this, this morning.

    Then this.

Took a hundred dollar Mammut lead climbing rope, my bug out bag with a bunch of emergency supplies, Surefire G2 with an LED drop in, Col* S**** Recon 1, and a few multitools.

I pack my things to make my car look cheap and harmless. There's a BMW parked right across the street. Why not that one! They hit the jackpot on mine unfortunately. Thankfully no Spydercos were taken or harmed.

Sorry for your loss and all the pita that goes along with it. Hopefully they'll catch the slimeballs that did this. I never leave anything of great value in my car. It's an aggravation to bring it in each night, however I do.

I am also very sorry to hear about your loss. It is very sad that others feel the need to take what does not belong to them.

I hope all works out ok for you.

I would say the flash bmw would of been alarmed etc, ie to hard for scum like that.

I have a habit of taking everything I dont want stolen out of my car, seen it happen too many times.

That's an awful way to start your day! Do file a police report, it may not get you your stuff back rightaway - but you never know and it helps the police in charting car crime and subsequently fighting it. The BMW could very well have appeared to be 'too difficult' or 'noisy' to break into. You can never tell though, these days professional crooks simply buy a brand new car with all the security goodies just to take it apart and learn how to circumvent the security systems.

I'm really sorry to hear that, Chris. What a bummer.

A little car-theft humor may cheer you up:

My Aunt lived in NYC for 40 years. For a few years in the 60s, she had a bright red Sunbeam Tiger. Beautiful little convertible. Terrible choice for the city. She replaced the top five times before she just took it down every time she parked. That didn't stop folks from messing with her car. Sadly, she traded it in on an early Honda - generic little econobox. It was broken into so many times that she lost count.

In frustration, she went out and bought an old beater Ford Escort wagon. Took it to the paint shop and had them paint it the ugliest "battleship grey" primer I'd ever seen. From that point forward, she left her car on the street, unlocked, night-after-night. And nobody bothered it. It was the perfect urban stealth vehicle.

She told me that she used to mess with the local kids by double wrapping her garbage and leaving it in her unlocked car. Kids would make off with the stolen "merchandise" like bandits.

    Best of luck, Bro!

Thank G-d you weren't there during the robbery to take their heads off and no one is hurt Chris...Sucks losing the stuff and all.....broken window etc.....but all those lost things can be purchased again (PIA) and better safeguarded. Funny where I live your car would look like the typical unmarked police car......Doc

Ah yeah. Thanks guys for the encouraging words. Not much was lost thankfully. I just feel so violated and frustrated.

Police report has been filed and the officer did a really quick fingerprint swipe that lead to no results.

My city is extremely quiet. Because it's so safe, people are becoming too comfortable with their environment thus the hike in recent burglaries. Lets hope one of these idiots brings my knife in for sharpening at my store
