    Hi Sithus,

From what I can see of the clip on the Nilakka, it doesn't look like it can be flipped to carry in the left pocket very well. Where the clip and the plate that screws to the end, they are not centred to each other.

One could put the clip on the other side of the knife but I don't think it would work out too well.

It should be. It does not look much different than the Buck Vantage series that has end mounted clips. Perhaps an illusion of not being centered because of the picture angle. It looks to me to be centered. Off-center wouldn't be a good idea anyway. I like it, I just hope it doesn't cost too much.

If it's centered now, it won't be when you flip it.

    Thanks for the reply Sal

I'll keep a eye out for the new rescue I hope the handel shape is based off the endura

There's lot's of fully serrated blade shapes I have yet to try.

Thanks for keeping the F.S. FRN coming out.

Sal, I have question please, are both of the liners on the GB Air titanium?

I would guess that they are looking at the weight but I'm not sure. Great looking knife btw.

Sal, a question on serrated blades and Rescue-type knives. I've never actually tested this but I've had an informal hands-on impression that with dense weaves like seatbelt webbing a serrated edge is a faster solution than anything other than a reeeeeally sharp plain edge, and of course in real life a tool like that may not always be that sharp. I am guessing you will test the PE blades before going that way, or will you offer PE and SE as separate models? Thanks for taking the time to exchange information with us in this (and all the other) threads.

Diamondback, yes, VG-10, but I believe they'll be coated black. They are for Military request.

Serrated edges made properly have some advantages; They can cut woven material aggressively continiously, where as the plain edge won't hang in there as long. They offer more linear inches of edge for the same length, the edge is contantly changing the center of effort, the points of the teeth will act as the tip of a knife when penetrating.

What you really need to do is get two identical knives, one plain, one with teeth, get them both very sharp and do your own testing.,

Sal, thank you for taking the time to answer our questions and hear our opinions. I think so many of the new designs are great! (Ulize, Nilakka, Szabo Folder, Techno, Brad Southard Folder etc. etc..) I also have been a huge fan of the Tuff for some time and respect the amount of refinement you guys have put it through. I will say, I don't favor the new divots. Imo they take away from the strikingness of the blade and look to random. I think a more uniform, 3d machined texture would compliment it more. Like I said, its just my opinion and thanks again for all your hard work.

Sal, I guess you can answer this question then. Is the clip on the Nilakka reversible?

    Sal,

I was just watching the Air video that wouter posted and I was wondering if it might be possible to have a soft leather sheath included? I have been really getting into and enjoying some European (especially French) gentlemans knives and they will often come with a soft sheath to slip the knife into...thought that it might be nice with the Air.

Yes, that would definitely increase its usability. I was wondering if it would fit in a small CRK pouch?

    Hi Sal,
Is there no possibility of a clip on the Air?

FWIW, based on the size of the USB drive, the Air appears to be slightly smaller than the Kiwi. If that's the case, it will fit nicely in this small flap pouch that AG Russell sells. The pouches Spyderco use to pack with Kiwis also would work, as would the small Wm Henry clipped sheath, if you can acquire one, but I have a hunch that even the small CRK sheath might be a tad large.

I do really like the kiwi pouch and that is exactly the style that I would really like for the Air...if it doesn't end up coming with one (and I am 99% sure it won't) I think that I'll have one made and use that for pocket carry. Be a great way to carry and protect the knife.

I am very exited about Fluted Ti N5 and really need it.
I know it is very hard to give release day, but may be you can give us some rough idea. Thank you in advance.
Regarding Tuff, I like dimples. I know that this is a tool, but there is no law, which prohibit for tool to look good.

    Tuff Questions

    Sal,

The dimples on the Tuff look awesome - sporty and unique. I hope you keep them.

    Questions:

    1. Approximate release date?

    2. What is the purpose of making the choil so large? Its large size seems to sacrifice quite a bit of the cutting surface of the blade.

    Thanks...looking forward to its release!
