I actually like the look of it and I'll definitely be getting one.

Anyone know release date or pricing?

Can I pre-order 2 NOW please? I am loving this knife. This will probably take the place of many of my EDC's. Thank you Brad and Spyderco. When more information about the pre-order/release date become available please let us know. I already have plans to gift a couple of these. My son will be PROUD. It is a great day in Spydieville. A true Blessing.

To me, a flipper is nothing but a tchotchke, or a gimmicky knick-knack, if you will. But I'm torn on this knife because I want to support Brad, I am a fan of his work. He has been nothing but nice to me ever since he modded a few Spydies for me a number of years ago. So I probably will end up getting one.

I have a number of flippers both plain and assisted. I really enjoy them. This simply gives the user another option. I too am honored and humbled to be able to support Brad. Thank you Sal and Eric for making this possible.

I'm definitely getting one, I really like the blade shape, overall design, and the steel choice is just icing on the cake.

I'm no lawyer...copyright is for written material??? But agree with the trademark being a differnet issue and is indefinite. And I am glad.

+100. I like the look of this one so much I'm actualy going to pass on the Techno to get the flipper. I already own & enjoy several flippers, but the combination of the hole allows me to deploy in whatever method suits the surroundings.

Like Jay said, this isn't the case (for me) of it being flipper vs no flipper. It's an example of a great company teaming with a great designer.

I have no issue with the flipper / Spyder-hole combo.
Right-hand-only-ness in hole access and clip... As a lefty, I'll pass on this one, with no hard feelings.

Not listed here, but is the steel stainless or non-stainless? I own the Gayle Bradley, but I'm not on a quest for more non-stainless steel blades.

It's one less Spydie I feel drawn to buy, but there are plenty. (The Gayle Bradley Air looked promising, but it's another right-hand-only knife... I'll pass on that too.)

One for me, I was lucky to use it during the Amsterdam meeting and I confirm, it's a wonderfull knive.
You can use the flipper to open the knife quickly but you can also use the hole to open the knife less aggressively.

I like flippers in designs where the majority of the blade is inside the handle when closed. I had a Buck Rush which was an assisted flipper and i loved it. If that knife came in a better steel i would probably still be carrying one today.

I welcome your insight, Blerv. I was wanting to rag on the flipper.

But collaboration is just that. If Spyderco chooses to collaborate, why wouldn't the result be something other than its own aesthetic. I simply don't like flippers or tantos, but Spyderco offers so many of its own designs that I have no call to rag...

Love the knife and Brad's flippers are the only flippers I like, but would prefer the handles be all titanium.

Oh didn't think you (or anyone) were ragging . It's good to have various perspectives.

Not a huge fan of flippers myself, nor assisted openers. If Spyderco made an A/O knife as a collaboration with someone known for them I would understand it. Just probably wouldn't buy it.

Thanks for your reply, jossta. I'm looking forward to purchasing this new flipper. BTW, I totally agree with you and I love my Spydies...with their signature feature as you mentioned. IIRC, Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

there are people on here that boycott Benchmade.
That's their privilege. I have multiple knives from both makers; have enjoyed good customer service and pricing from both. Fortunately, I'm too old, too inexperienced and naieve to care about boycotts.
