Forum knives are usually offered to forum members at 40% off, so no worries!

For me, my last purchase from the SFO nearly got me taxed above the actual value of the knife I ordered. Luckily, the customs officer was a good chap and I avoided a major issue.

I understand that Spyderco cant undervalue item prices on customs forms. So I do hope that it's not one of those ultra expensive pieces made in Golden. If it is, total bummer for me.

This will be my first forumife (forum+knife and not intended as a pun).

Thanks JediKnight86. I did not know that. One learns something new everyday.

    I hope it's a Native 4 with CF handle.

Given Kristi's post saying the Forum Knife will be a Golden model, I think we can rule out the Native 4, since it was made in Japan.

Native 4 had a CF handle. Must've meant Native 5.

I have a feeling that the next time there is any news it will be a new thread sticky at the top saying what it is and how to get one.

Definitely. Not to mention that getting stressed out about it won't change the timing in any case.

I find it interesting that there were ever Native models made overseas. I thought the whole point of the Native model was that it was made in Golden hence the name. I don't know exactly what you'd call the last forum knife, which was a Native with a unique Golden-made FFG blade in S30V (standard Native is S30V with hollow-grind and the new Native 5 FFG blade is different), and what I think was a Native II handle in dark purple. A Native 5 would be cool, but I don't think they'll do that since the last forum knife was a Native. Plus, I'm still waiting to see if they do a Native 5 lightweight FRN model.

Well, out of all the Natives, only the original C41 Native Lightweight and the Native V have been made in the USA. The Native II was the all stainless version of the C41 and, like the C78 Native III and the CF C41 Native IV, was made in Japan. Last Forum knife was just a regular C41 Lightweight with special grind, purple FRN, and special engraving.

If Spyderco would take regular Native5 and do the same:special grind, special engraving, special (polished) G10, than dream come true

I was out at the factory outlet (amazing, by the way) and asked about the forum knife. Did not get a good response... I sincerely hope a forum knife isn't passed up.

Sorry to bring back the thread, but I feel like a lot of us would purchase this knife...whatever it is.

Aaarrgg! I thought there was good news on the horizon.
    I walk away slow tonight,
    and cut through the air
with a curse, like a knife.
