Red face Para 2 and Strider SmF comparsion?

Could any of you hard use junkies please post a comparison of the smf with the para 2? I am contemplating a nice CC SMF in s30v with flat grind... I know I know, blasphemy XD.... but I want something I can wail on and not worry (warranty, basically FB that happens to have a pivot)

    thanks whoever can help

We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.

I was reeeeally debating about getting one of those but i went with the 20CP Para 2 instead. You really can't go wrong with either one, i just wanted something other than another S30V knife, and i can't afford the S90V/S110V Strider.

I'd forgotten how massive those Striders are. It makes my arm tired just thinking about it.

I think it will carry nicely either version I get, but im still going for cc. I carry a ppt, ladybug, phone and large SAK in 1 pocket so it would probably carry nicley imo.

Dang, that SMF might as well have a blunt tip. I gotta say that thing is uselessly thick for a folding knife. Thanks for reminding me to never get a Strider.

I like the SMF and the SNG, thicker blade, big pivot and I love frame locks, a superleaf would probably be a better comparable if you are looking for something more robust in the Spyderco line up IMO ... our there's always Emerson.

I don't think anyone is going to think your commiting blasphemy. Variety is great .

The only factor I would consider is simple resources. A Manix2 or GB is tougher than most people and a third or a fifth the cost. If you have gorilla mits and a thirst for wailing the Strider would likely hold up better. I just think some (like me) would break a hand before the knife, lol.

If you do pull the trigger let us know your thoughts. No flames, we promise .

    I have a destruction urge .
My m390 para has held up battoning overhanging 2.5in branches, SMF will do that AND some.

I blame these cravings on our member 'popsickle' who constantly buys and shows them off on IRC #sharpthings

one of the first things I will do is chop down more branches, second thing I will do will be destroying my old POS phone
