Well my Blue M390 PM2 arrived yesterday. That thing is a beaut. Out of the box sharpness is not as good as my CTS-20CP PM2, but still sharp enough to shave arm hair. The pivot was a little tight but no big deal to adjust. Blade is centered pretty much perfectly but the edge is not perfectly symmetrical, not that I am super concerned about it, just my observation. I also have the marks on the liners from where the laser starts and stops but it doesn't bother me. All in all, seems like a winner and I'm glad I picked one up

Finally, finally, finally have mine! The grind on the blade is not that even and is pretty high up on the blade on one side. However, it is smooth and sharp. I underestimated what you guys were saying about the "grippiness" of the G-10. This stuff is like light weight grip tape (the stuff on skateboards).

Sorry for the crappy pic. The lighting is bad and it was taken on my Xoom.

Yeah, it's a part-time job learning all the "normal" flaws on these various knives. My Smurf was disappointingly sharp out of the box, but a little bit of time on the SM has it scary sharp. It really is a good-looking knife, isn't it?

Yeah, it is a nice looking knife! Is it regretful that I can't wait to see how the handles are going to look once they get a little dirty (LOL)? I think the dirtiness will look good on this color scale...give it character.

Did you go down to UF on the SM?

    Off Topic:
I just noticed you live in Charlotte. I went to Winthrop and now I don't live too far from Augusta National (The place where they play the Master's for everyone else). My sister lives in Rock Hill.

Yeah, that is some grippy G-10. My hands like the holding power. I'm not sure by pants will like the sanding that they will take over time. My pants have plenty to complain about anyway lately with all of the chili I've been eating.

After a little bit of time carrying this knife I can honestly say it is a great knife. My camo para 2 took weeks to break in and now swings freely, but feels and sounds like plastic rubbing on plastic when doing so. Not this one. It was broken in in less than a day and is very smooth.

I still haven't had the time or energy to put my own edge on my blue para and carrying a knife without my own edge doesn't really feel right to me. Yeh, I'm OCD.

I finally got home from working out of town and opened her up. Its a very nice looking knife. I think I need to clean it and break it in though. Nothing near as smooth as my Gray and black ones. Seems a little gritty maybe. The blade was slightly off center, but got that fixed. Played with the pivot screw a bit. Also the blue one has a soft lock sound; not loud and solid like the other 2, but it definitely locks in. Had a slight amount of vertical play, but got that taken care of as well. Overall, I am very happy as I really like the PM2's
The blue is a nice shade as well.

    Hope everyone is enjoying theirs!

well on mine it was easy cause that stop was loose. I tightened it up and got rid of the play. I guess it might not work for everyone. My vertical play had a decent amount, but after tightening the stop pin, its gone. they left the screws extremely loose.

Hope this works for others as well

home made sharpener, used sandpaper to 2000 grit, then loaded some paper at the same thickness of the sandpaper with 7u, 5u, 2.5u, and 0.5u diamond paste

Yeah Chuck, very nice photo. That smurf blue just begs to sit in the fruit bowl with the other happy colors. I am loving mine, too.

Like you, I have not yet put on my own edge. I am curious to learn if M390 is aggressive with a polished edge or if it needs a lower polish to have that "bite."
