    What's wrong with me......

I spend many hours a day looking at websites that review, sell and modify knives. As of late, much of that time is spent at this site....

Then I search and play games that have may sharp things, mainly on my iPhone and PC.

Nutnfancy, Cutlerylover, Cajunblaze and a many similar catchy names are engraved in my mind.

I take my to even take the wrapper off a small bar of chocolate.... whats wrong with me?

Don't see anything wrong at all. Do you pull your knife out when you make a trip to the bathroom, just to look it over. Or hold one in your hand as you drive down the road. Or open and close one while you're watching TV until your wife slaps you about the head and takes it away. Or mow the yard thinking about what the next one that you have to have is. Or go to bed counting little Spydies jumping a fence.
    No, you sound perfectly normal.

I keep my Spydies in the top drawer of my dresser; can't tell you how many times I've gone to that drawer just to randomly take one out and admire it.

There's nothing wrong with you bro, you're in good company

That's just too funny 1623. I can just picture you standing there looking into the drawer with that "Spyderco look" that we all get. I do the same thing. The wife will catch me just staring at a knife and looking the lines of the handle over and then slowly opening the blade in great anticipation, like I am going to see something that I've never seen before. She'll pop in and say "what are you doing, admiring your knives", It's like she caught me sweet talking the neighbor's cat. (Slight modification of a Tim Allen joke from his early stand up days, if you are familiar)

I'm with you on admiring the lines before you even deploy the blade. What I really dig also is the contrast of the liners and lock against the scales; the Sage 1 was the first knife that really got me with that.

Man, if our wives didn't know that we collected they'd undoubtedly think it was porn...

    ...oh, wait

Quit worrying about what is wrong with you and buy another knife. That always makes me feel better.

Once you figure out the official term of what you have...Spydieholic...let me know so I know what it is that I have. I always keep at least one Spydie next to my bed and play with it as I read at night. Some times I even flick it in the dark until the old lady starts whining. Or, I'll reach over and shave some hair off of her arm...she really doesn't much like that....
Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

I love to stand in front of my knife tool box and just play with my knives. When I leave the room, I think about which knife or knives are coming with me! If I have to go back to my room, I then replace the knives, and take another knife or two out to play with.

It's called, feeding the addiction. A rather awesome addiction!

Relax, nothing is wrong with you! It's called Spyderholism, I prefer to call it Spyderitis gravis acuta. It's bad for your account balance, but you will get used to it.

Enjoy your stay here, you are not alone!

What problem, who has a problem? I Don't have a problem. So I like to open a knife every now then who doesn't. Do I open my knives alone??? sometimes sure I do, but I just need it to help me get through the day ... I am sure everyone does ... right, right??? It's not like I hide my knife purchases from my family .... well, sometimes I do but they just don't understand, it's them who has the problem, not me.
