    Neck Knife

I am looking for a neck knife for outdoor use, mostly hunting, fishing, and camping. I would like it to go along with a larger fixed blade I usually carry outdoors, so I depend less on my folders for smaller tasks. There are so many on the market I don't know where to start. I would like something around the 2.5" blade length, under 3 oz in weight, with a plastic sheath for under $50. Of course my first look was to the Izula, Becker Necker, and the Eskabar. Are there other quality options out there that meet my criteria? Any help would be appreciated.

Check out the blackjack necker. I have a thread with some pics and I still think it's an awesome little knife. Also, scrapivor is a nice little necker as well. Let us know what you end up with!

Here are a few to look into.

    Izula from ESEE.

    Becker necker

Bark river cant remember the name, but it has awesome scales.

    ScrapYard knife works Scrapivore

    Swampr Rat Swamp Warden.

You can also look into custom makers. Some do great work for really competitive prices. Especially the newer guys.

There are so many good one's out there....
For your Price range I would consider the "Mini Pit-Bull" from Timberline, beautiful lite-weight 3" (Lightfoot Design) with a very positive Kydex to knife snap in lock up...so strong you can carry upside down in a necker position and never worry bout it falling out. If you want something even lighter with tremendous cutting power The "Last Ditch" from Kabar will cost you around $20, its a small wharnie with big cutting power, it's so light you won't even know your wearing around the neck. .... CRKT makes the "Dog Fish" another small neck knife you should look into.....If you want something custom, Check out Mark Goldsworthy site and take a look at his Kiridashi Neckers, they can be had for a price in the $50-$100 range...Made to your specs.....Hope that helps....Doc
PS. The Isula is a nice necker, but probably a little more then you want to spend...

A bit more expensive than your $50 but one heck of a necker is a Perrin Neck Bowie. Think of a skeletonized, smaller Street Beat and you get the picture of what this little badboy is capable of.

Mora. Inexpensive, reliable and if you don't like it, or you lose it, you're out less than $30.

I almost bought a CKRT Minimalist yesterday. I found them for sale at Lowes (of all places) for $20. They come in a blowie and wharnie blade, have a pretty awesome handle design and weigh next to nothing. I just wish they were available in better steel.

+1 for the Izula. I have the Izula 1 and love the thing. Did a paracord wrap on mine. It came SHARP out of box. I wasn't expecting that. Great little knife. Can't beat the ESEE warranty either. Good luck.

Izula, Becker, Scrap Yard, Swamp Rat, Blackjack, or Fehrman short stop.

Unless you feel like going custom. That is a longer conversation.

I also really want one of these:

I have a K.V.A. Excellent knife, but not really designed for neck carry; really more appropriate to static cord, in either one's pocket or IWB.
