    My true EDC

Ever since I lost my Police 3 a few months ago, this has been my only carry knife besides a Swiss Tool I sometimes bring with me (Never use the blades though). CPMD2 Military, nice and sharp. Goes everywhere with me and has been performing great for years.

Wow. That blade gets a lot of love...

What angle do you sharpen it at?

It's freehand so I don't know for sure. Eyeballing it I'd say somewhere between 10 and 15 degrees inclusive. It's definitely less than 10 degrees per side.

Being in Ohio, you ever get hassled for carrying a blade that long? (i guess not or you wouldn't still own it huh).

I guess that's all patina on the blade? Did you force it or is that natural?

It started out forced with a vinegar soaked paper towel (You can see some of the paper towel texture still), but it's gotten much darker and more even over time.

Never had a problem with the police. You can carry any knife you want except double edged knives, as long as it isn't concealed or you aren't in the greater Cleveland area. They have a 2.5 inch blade limit, but I've broken that many times without issue. Autos and fixed blades are fine in my part of Ohio. I've actually been stopped before going for a walk when cops were looking for a fugitive and I matched the description, and the cop just asked me to hand it to him and he clipped it to his duty belt until he was done running my SS, then he gave it back no questions asked. I've honestly never had a problem carrying a Millie anywhere, even at work or other public places. Not even a raised eyebrow using it to slice apples at an office job.

I'll have to get photos of my Aqua Salt up at some point. It has a really thin edge and has been used quite a bit too. Here's two older pictures of the Millie. One from my cabin vacation last year and another after a fresh sharpening:

That's a great knife bro. Glad you are getting so much use out of it. I love a well used tool. Nice edge.

Nice patina. Never considered forcing D2 before. Hmmm.

    Vivi,

What do you use to sharpen that Military? Diamond hones, or Edge Pro, or some other way?

DMT diamond bench stones. Coarse, a lazy polishing on the fine, then a microbevel with the sharpmaker ultrafines.

Beard hair. Easier to photograph than a head hair and they pull out more easily.

Took it a bit thinner and polished it up a bit. Took my time on the edge and it's popping hairs a cm above skin. Cuts pretty good now
