    What this forum owes you?

Without sounding too antagonistic (despite the title ), just curious.

I personally dont expect much. I think its an overall good group of people who are knowledgeable about knives and other things. I guess if I had questions on other things it would be a dice toss but one worth taking. I do consider the bulk of you as friends .

Overall Im here for fun and laughs while trying to learn something. I'm appreciative of support from friends but dont expect or demand it. I know you are all, with the exception of a few employees, private citizens not speaking on behalf of Spyderco. Frankly I respect your time enough to let you enjoy a silly forum. Its not free therapy and ego stroking for me. I wouldnt expect it from friends outside the forum.

Oh I do have pics of a blade grind that is not perfect under 500 times magnification. I expect answers from the presidents (Sal and Obama) immediately and apologies from each one of you.

A 2012 forum knife in dark green G-10 bygummint!!!

The forum doesn't owe me anything. I get knowledge about a cherished hobby and in return I try to obey the rules and contribute a little.

add-> I do think it's cool that forum members cut across age groups, professions and beliefs. That creates a great opportunity for learning in the off-topic forum as well.

Our reason is quite satisfied, in 999 cases out of every 1000 of us, if we can find a few arguments that will do to recite in case our credulity is criticized by someone else. Our faith is faith in someone else's faith, and in the greatest matters this is most the case.

Nothing more than what we are willing to put into the forum. Some posters just don't understand why they are not entitled to be indulged when their 'problem' is trivial. Most need to be told to, "Butch up and stop being a such a whiner." It's what real friends do for one another.

Blerv, I must say, like your sense of humor.

Agree! A better question, much better, would be: "what do I owe this forum?"

    I'm serious.

This forum, like life itself, owes me absolutely nothing. But I'm mighty grateful for the civility and help I usually find in both.

We already voted by your polls that we were going to do a Manix 2, what is wrong with the Stag Arms exclusive?!

Some people you can never please!

The forum doesn't owe me anything, but provides me with indirect answers to some pretty odd questions that I come up with.

Thank you everyone for putting up with me.

I certainly agree Seq. This place is only as good as it's contributions and contributors. If efforts are genuine it will stay an amazing place where we can sit accross the coffee table with industry leaders like the Glesser's, Ed Schempp, Michael Janich and many more.

I have a long-standing philosophy about the "Entitlement Program" and while good places like this seldom get it in full-force an occasional hint at it freaks me out.

Much appreciated Pine however that may not bode well for our sanity. I fear a world of padded walls and paper pill dispensing cups are in our futures. There is always a shiny lining to the crazy cloud though: Free Jell-O.

I don't think this forum owes me one darn thing. Quite the opposite, I feel I owe it a lot, both for all I've learned here and for tolerating my somewhat abrasive personality.

Any good forum is a give and take system. You learn, and you pass on what you've learned to those who come after you. This is my goal anyway. I know 100% more about this hobby than i did a year ago. All i have to give back is passing that info on to the next person.

Not a thing. Where else can you talk civilly with others about Spyderco knives? I know no knife people - it's sad really. It's great to learn and share with others that have the same interests - without them thinking you're a psycho because you carry something they need to open a package or box.

    - best wishes, Jazz.

i agree with everyone...it owes me nothing. I just try to give back as much as I can and in a 100% honest and upfront way. I think that the people here are really great and the info available is extremely helpful. The ability to interact with Sal etc is a privilege and to have our feedback taken into consideration is something that I think we sometimes overlook when we are here. And that is one reason that I always give my honest opinion on things. If I like something or if I think that it is not up to par or needs improvement, then I will voice that.
I think that us giving back to the forum and each other is the best thing that we can do to not only ensure that we continue to see Spyderco grow and improve, but to welcome others into the addiction

Like others have said, it owes me nothing at all. I, however, owe it a little more diligence in looking at more threads than I do. There are many that I don't find too interesting (in just looking at the title) and therefore don't look at. In doing this I am very likely missing out on some good discourse.

Oh yeah, know what you are saying. It beggars belief how I can show a CF. S90V. Para 2 to someone & without even opening the blade, they shrug & hand it back while saying something about their car or football team or how good their dog is. I then show them the courtesy of indulging their interest even if the said car is a Ford .
Spyderco forum courtiesly indulges my interest & owes me nothing, I in fact owe contributions to help keep the ball rolling.

This forum has allowed me to communicate with other fans of Spyderco knives, see lots of pictures, and learn lots of things about knives. This has led me to buy more Spydercos, so it seems to be a win-win for members and Spyderco. I wish there was a forum here for members (not dealers) to buy and sell and knives to each other. I can do this on other knife forums, of course, but it would be nice to have a trading forum that is predominately Spydercos, so I don't have sort through pages of inferior knives.

I am a member on BM, CS, and other forums. Only reason why I am active here rather than on the other forums is simply because everyone here is the perfect definition of a knifebro. No flaming here, just guys who love knives, straight useful information, great pictures, and the staff themselves get involved as well!

What does it owe me? Absolutely nothing. I really do like coming here to be the first to see prototypes and new releases though! I'm sure nothing will stop that from happening.

Like the Deacon said, the forum owes me nothing. I strive to give the forum some semblance of the knowledge and kindness its members have shown me.

I also feel that I owe the forum a really sweet knife design some time down the road. I really want to try to find what people on here tend to enjoy and incorporate a lot of those aspects into one design. I have no idea how, but I think it would be fun.
