One of the reasons I love music so much is because there will always be new artists to discover and enjoy, even if they've been around for a while.

Last night I was watching Jimmy Kimmel and was floored by Mute Math; a band that I had heard of, but never actually listened to.

    I'm diggin'
"To be nobody but yourself, in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else, means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting."

    E.E. Cummings

Music and age have no correlation; what's in the heart is in the heart.

Welcome Enagelina, I haven't listened to Courtney Love much, but am a huge Nirvana fan.

I test music player software so I'm listening to every sort of music all day. If I test with my favorite music too much, I start to hate them after a while.

After work, I tend to prefer classic rock bands, 90s punk/progressive rock stuff. Throw in a little hiphop and R&B in there too. Rush is probably my favorite single band, closely followed by Pink Floyd and Yes.

Looks like there aren't a whole lot of people into the indie rock/pop scene here, so I'm guessing most of you won't have heard of the bands I've been listening to this past week. Bands recently getting playlist love:

    Feist
Margot & the Nuclear So and So's
    Sufjan Stevens
    Low
    Sunset Rubdown
    Why?

I can say that I've been using Spotify a ton over the past month and love being able to listen to hard-to-find albums and artists (at least hard to find in the US). Lots of obscure, but very talented artists -along with all the major groups- are on Spotify and I'm enjoying discovering more stuff to listen to.
Regina is a great artist. I listened to her previous album for almost a week before I got bored with it. The new one I got sick of after a day or two. Both good, but neither had anything so remarkable that I had to go back to listen to again. =\

I have heard some Feist, a little too out there for me. I have listened to Sufjan Stevens because of the shout from Snow Patrol, but there isn't enough energy in the music.

+1 for CCR. I'm 32, but grew up listening to these guys in my dad's car. Now MY kid is listening to them in MY car.

    For the past couple weeks:

    The Rome Project

collaboration with producer and Spaghetti western composer Daniele Luppi with a few songs featuring Jack White and Norah Jones.

Playing cards with friends the other night--one of the 'darker' songs playing, deep-voiced buddy Jim busted out this quote from Apocalypse Now:

"I watched a snail crawl along the edge of a straight razor.
That's my dream; that's my nightmare.
    Crawling,... slithering along the ege
Of a straight razor,..., and surviving."

    It was spooky.

Awesome - that's what I grew up on. I was grooving to A Flock of Seagulls today, and my wife's playing some nice George Strait right now - gotta love variety.

    - best wishes, Jazz.

Nice, your post inspired me to get the album. I have a long drive on Wednesday, I'll give it a full hearing then.
