    Smile Stripped Screw

    Hey, i recently picked up a spyderco cricket and it was really gritty and scratching the metal when i opened it so i took it apart and one of the screws was bound and really tight so i up screwed it and in the process stripped and i live in Canada so its really expensive to ship my knife in do u know of anywhere i can get a replacement screw (it was the screw for the bar preventing the knife from going further back when u opened it) also if there is no place i can get one would the parts kit for the Delica 4 have the screw i need in it? thanks

    Most cities have a fastener store. Take the screw in and see if they can match it. It probably won't be black but if it works that shouldn't mater. If it is too long it can be cut, just pick up a nut and put on before you cut it so when you take the nut off it will clean up the threads. Just go slow putting it in the knife.

    In the future make sure you are using the right size Torx and press down hard so the bit doesn't twist out and mess up the head. If it doesn't seem like it wants to break free heat up the head of the screw which will soften any Loc tite. You can use a soldering gun or even take some vise grips and a good size nail and hold it on the hot stove for a couple minutes.

    Good luck contacting warranty. I wasn't able to get any but have heard of others, especially those out of country where sending a knife back is difficult.
