    Manix2 Sprint - C101GBD30P2

The Spyderco Manix2 Sprint is now available. For more info, check out the Manix2 Sprint Product Page.

We will be shipping the Manix2 Sprint Run over the next couple of weeks. Unfortunately, there has been a mix-up on the blade steel and Spyderco made the decision to continue with the Sprint Run and produce the knife using Carpenter's CTS-BD30P Blade Steel instead of Carpenter's CTS-B75P steel originally planned.

We are still working with Carpenter to produce something with their CTS-B75P steel and we will keep you informed once we finalize more details.

Can nothing stop the Manix 2 Sprints? They just keep coming. I just keep waiting for the FRCP.

Haha Allow me to rephrase: There were approximately 1,000 C101GBD30P2's produced. Spyderco will not be producing 1,000 different Manix2 Sprints at this time.

There do seem to be a lot of sub-models of the Manix2 model. That's fine with me because if I divide folding knives into two basic categories like EDC smaller and/or dressier knives and larger tougher knives, I really like the Manix2 for the larger category. I'm not planning on buying any more Manix2 knives myself. I have the black 154CM and the M4 FFG one and am very happy with these two. But if I were to want to collect a harder use Spyderco model it would be the Manix2 but the two I have is fine for a "user collection".

Another neat thing about the Manix2 models is it looks like you can take different parts of any model (blade and scales primarily) to have one that you like better than the "stock" model. I think that's possible with all sub-models. I made two sets of G-10 scales (blue and orange) and have switched them on both of my Manix2s. What makes this a little more interesting is that I have a satin and a DLC blade and the blue REALLY looks good on the black blade. The orange just doesn't do it for me on the satin blade. At the moment I have an orange and blue scale on the black blade knife on opposite sides. I haven't decided if I like that or not. It is different though. I'm just assuming the blades can be switched which might be interesting if you had several models with different steel types.

...I see it says 1000 sprint runs. Other (para military 2 was 600). I guess the runs are from 500 to 1000?

    Thanks!
