Open source, programmable flashlight - 500 lumens

I have no financial interest in this, but found out about it today. It seems like a really good concept and I like the idea of being able to program it myself for different uses. I know there's some flashlight guys on the board, so I thought I'd pass it along.

I'll be giving my impressions when I get mine.

Programmable or not, $35 for a 350 Lumen light seems like a good deal to me. Might have to order one.

You can wire any device to put out as much power or light as you want it to, it all comes down to how long that power will last and be at a steady level. Also didn't see what kind of batteries it uses- think its just some random USB rechargeable one that you'd have to buy a new light after it dies. I'll just stick to my Fenix, they've got a good track record and a warranty

As you can see on this chart, it uses pretty common flashlight batteries.

They can be replaced by unscrewing the cap at the bottom, so definitely not a 'throw away' light..

If the components can handle it. Only recently could you have a single LED capable of 350 lumen output.

It's not like you will be able to put 1000 watts of power into a 10 watt light bulb and expect it not to blow.
