Thanks for posting all of your tests. RIP little guy. Please post pics of what you end up making out of the blade.

The pin and pivot have just a slight indent in them from me hammering dirrectly where they are and whatnot, but they aren't bent at all. If I can get a decent pic with my camera, I will. I really do feel bad that I destroyed it, but it will live on in at least 2 necklaces, and now I have a spare clip.

Coming soon - 2 claw necklaces carved from H1 from the "little guy" knife...

I am excited to see this.....

How much pork would it have cut? How many car hoods would it have pierced? Those are some other tests?
More work than I thought (drilling stainless steel just wrecks bits, so I had to diamond tip my way through the thing), but here they are. First, a couple of pics to prove they came from the H1 blade I say they did...
...design of 2 claws scratched on - one using the pivot hole...
...cutting away excess metal to get at the claws...
...almost finished, but laid out roughly where they came from...
...finished claws carved from H1 steel from the "little guy"...
That's it. Thanks for looking.
You can't see it, but in the second last pic under my name is a wee scratch left by the pivot that I left there on purpose - kind of to remember what this blade's been through. In a couple hundred more posts, I'll be giving that one away in some kind of contest. Does anyone know what it costs to send something like this overseas, in case that happens?
- best wishes, Jazz.
VERY VERY cool!
Nice work!

Thank you, sir!I just might wear the other one myself - I don't know yet.
- best wishes, Jazz.
Unlike what most people think, shipping stuff overseas doesn't break the bank. For example you can send pretty much any folder anywhere in the world for 15$ (un-insured).
That being said, shipping something like that in an envelope will cost a buck or two more than shipping it within the States.![]()
... and look who's alive! I even engraved his name on him and heat-colored and sanded the clip...
I'm going outside to whittle. It's been too long.
- best wishes, Jazz.
So how did the whittling go, bro? I cannot go more than a few days before I simply must go whittle and put thing right in my head during the process.
I was out back tonight working on a walking stick with my oldest and thinking of this thread.
Keep up the good work!

This knife, though funny-looking, feels great and cuts great - whittles like a dream. I guess that's why I remade it. I really missed it. I love mindless whittling (or even actually thinking whilst whittling). Great passtime - relaxing - you get to actually use your knives and get a feel for them. I hope your boys really appreciate the time with you and knives - priceless, in my opinion.
