    Karahawk... Finally back

Finally got my Karahawk back from Shepard CC. He had it since Dec last year. Anyway, I am impressed by the scales even if they aren't quite as smooth as I thought they'd be. It looks good, but I'm not sure if I want to do any further business with Eric. We'll see. I'll get some pics up shortly.

Care to elaborate? Smooth as in you didn't expect them to be grooved or they're not well finished?

I expected them to have a smooth finish, but the particular scale material I ordered is rough. Kind of has a plywood type feel. They're finished though. It is not plywood, though. They have this illusion that they look like they have a smooth shine to them in the pictures, but that is actually the metal wire in the material that give it that look.

That's the Thunderstorm Kevlar material, right? I've been thinking about picking some up to play with.

Yeah, it is. Part of the feel is the material. The wires will often stick through a little, giving that rougher feel.
