I have also reprofiled the blade to a more acute grind. I had initially convexed the blade when I first got it but decided acute v grind was better suited to this steel for those lovely laser scalpel like cuts.

Had some fun with fire today Not much but I like how they turned out!

The Stainless Worker is for comparison, it's unaltered. Every other clip has been flamed.

Clip on the Endura, as well as a Balance clip I had. Apparently I didn't clean the clip as well as I should have heh

    Yojimbo2 looking good.

I was so upset about this one, the top of the clip came out looking okay but the underside was absolutely brilliant!! I tried to heat it up a bit more to get the top better and got it how it is now, but that dulled the bottom. I was just disappointed I got it exactly how I wanted on the side that no one can see.

I'm also thinking of doing a giveaway for the Endura clip, it's just way too pretty to be stuck on a trainer handle! Also, if anyone wants the Balance clip, I don't have a Balance (held a GAW and sent them the Balance but forgot to reattach the clip oops!) just let me know and I can have it on your way Monday!

Boomer how does the clip side look on that Yo2? I may get with you on getting some all black or maybe dark burgundy scales in that pattern.

    REALLY cool. Very good job.

The curve of the colors really compliments the Yojimbo's shape. That looks fantastic, Boomer.

    David...

Here's a triptic image of the clip side pocket that I create when the texture is rather aggressive. The depth of the pocket depends on the scale thickness... and typically when doing textures like the Anso... you must start with a slab of G10 thicker than the stock scale thickness. You have liner pockets and a liner lock over travel pocket that is milled in the obverse side of the scales... and then texture milling in the top surface. Hopefully the 'twain shall never meet! I then mill the clip pocket pad to a depth equaling the stock scale thickness so the OEM hardware can still be used for the pocket clip attachment.

Did you flatten the corners of the Anso pattern where the clip meets the scale? That's how it is done on the PPT, and I'm a fan of that.

Hmm... not sure I understand what is meant by flattening the corners... but I create a flat pad pocket the shape of the clip foot depending on the depth of the Anso scallops. There are times that just a topping of the scallop edge apex is required... and not a full pad or pocket... it all depends on the material thickness and how deeply things get carved.
