That's cool, Gofannon. I love the "look of metal" - kind of like titanium. I like the look of my ZDP blades - they're kind of darker - metaly looking... I don't know how to describe it. Anyway, your's has that cool look. Nice job and thanks for sharing. Is is a bit grippier?

    - best wishes, Jazz.

Pacific Salt which was seriously beat up and scratched from gardening got a new pointy tip to pierce better into bags of fertilizer and got some polishing!

    Thanks Donut,

I really surprised myself with the result. In fact I would not have done a mod on one of my spydie's without the inspiration from this forum and if it would not had been in such bad shape as this Pacific Salt was before.
I used no special compounds or tools just good old fashion handwork!
Sandpaper, Jeans pant fabric, old leatherbelt and Flitz!
Took forever... but I loved the result!
My dad liked it too and confiscated the knife for himself!

Wow, that blade looks beautiful! I hope your dad likes it. Nice work. Funny... the things that turn us into modders - fixing broken blades, polishing scratches, trying to take weight off the knife, and on and on, and the next thing you know...

    - best wishes, Jazz.

Thanks you very much! I've done quite a few of these for folks, fun little time killer. While doing this one it struck me that I've never done any other color g10. Id be curious how a blue or foliage green handle would look. I may try to hunt down a old beat up fg UKPK or something similar.

    Schempp Damascus Delica C11JBBP

I put a Sage II clip on my Schempp Delica C11JBBP ...
I blued the clip with a blow torch first.

The latest mod is so subtle you may have to have held the knife to know i did it...but it makes all the difference in the world.

Centofante 4, smoothed out the jimping and point on the spine and semi polished the rest of the spine. There's just enough jimping to give your thumb some grip without having it rip your pants up going in and out of your pocket.

I like it so much, it may become a standard mod on all my knives.

Me - I'd just use 600 grit, then 1500 sandpaper, then polish with a buffer loaded with polishing compound.

    - best wishes, Jazz.

Very ambitious! Looks awesome! I think a Spydie needs a clip. Nice work. Was it hard to do?

    - best wishes, Jazz.

Yes. I've done a lot of mods on Spyderco's and other knives ... this was the toughest. I had to drill down through the scale to widen around the lanyard hole, to the level of the liner. Then I had to dremel two channels down to the liner level also. I don't own a milling machine, so I had to do it by hand. I just did small bits at a time on the channels, and kept putting the clip up next to what I had done until the channels were down far enough to be flush with the liner. I had to keep the channels, as narrow and tight as possible, otherwise I'd have gotten sideways-slop in the clip. I felt like I was a dentist or sumthin'
Here's a pic of the dremel bit I used ...

That's a pretty crazy mod, expensive knife to be cutting into the scales on. It looks good, though, nice work.

Well worth the effort, JB3. I love it. What other mods have you done, if you don't mind me asking?

    - best wishes, Jazz.

That clip is perfect for that delica. Very nice work.

This isn't much of a mod, but I took pics so why not post em.

If I keep it I'll try to get the shorter/sturdier wire clip used on the G10 dragonfly. I'm planning on tossing a wharncliffe blade off of the orange model in it tomorrow.

This is my guess, you dyed an Urban black? It's pretty dark, pretty well done.
