Thanks to JimP for the idea - here's my modded Salt 1... does anyone have the problem I had with stonewashing? The rocks were small, but they wouldn't get in the grind area right in front of the ricasso, and I shook for one hour and fifty minutes. I think some wee, small, and smooth ones added to the mix would help? What do you experts think?

Thanks for looking, and any advice.

    - best wishes, Jazz.

    Hey Jazz,
I have no advice for you on the stone washing, but that looks pretty damn cool!
    I also liked the mini!

Jazz, I think that even smaller stones could help alot. I am going to try some of those pyramid shaped ceramic media on my next one to see if that cures the problem. My delica had a similar spot, but it showed up as a dark spot because of the acid bath. See dark area below the thumb hole.

Thank you, sir. That looks really nice.

    Thanks, Don, for the compliments.

I would probably look into something like this. I wasn't going to buy online if I could avoid it, but one of these solutions should work.

I think Harbor Freight carries a decent selection of blast media, including the edged/pyramid shapes discussed here.

First of all, I hope you are not offended, Dialex, by this mod. It's the Junior with a clip point and swedge. I was thinking of doing it because I need a little more point in a blade. I like the design, so decided to go ahead. Right about then I found some pics of blades that Dialex himself modded. One looks just like this. Anyway, here's my new knife...

I really like how it turned out, and I didn't scratch the crap out of it like usual. Thanks for looking.

    - best wishes, Jazz.

I have two methods of getting into that small area.
    1. This one will not go heavy, but will break the "shine" Cracked tempered glass, like auto glass, in your mix.
    2. Around here, we have an abundance of red sandstone in the creek beds. I just add a handful of mixed sizes of that. It powders up as it works. This will be a heavier "wash" than the glass. And I have found that the consistency of the finish is enhanced with sandstone.
At this time, I use a little of both.

    a little better view

As much as I liked the overall design, I didn't have much use for it until I did a similar mod on mine. I just did a straight-spine clip point, but it sure made the tip more useful.

Your "new blade" looks great! It's a nice gentle curve and the swedge looks very consistent. The blade looks like a cross between a Chinook 1 and a Chinook 3. Keep the mods coming!

Thanks, JLS! It was probably your's that stuck the idea originally in my head. I know I saw a pic somewhere, before I saw Dialex's, but don't know whose it was. If it was your's; thanks.

    - best wishes, Jazz.

I'm not even crazy about clip points but that looks excellent. It's like a different knife. This just backs up my thoughts that this design deserves some different blade shape options. I still think it would be amazing with a wharnie blade.

I thought about doing it as soon as I got mine, but didn't have the courage to do it until seeing Dialex's pictures myself. Therefore, I'd attribute the inspiration back to him.

FWIW, I think the drop point blade is perfect for the intended, younger crowd of users. But I'm not that young anymore and I missed the point on it.

Your clip point is certainly more elegant than mine. But I also appreciate a flat section of spine as a relatively accurate straight edge and wanted it on this knife.

If they do make a larger "Senior" design, I'd like to see it with a clip point instead of a drop point. But if they make it at all and it is a drop point, I can always remove material. Those who want a drop point and get a clip point have a much more difficult task ahead of them.

Yep, it was your pic. Looks awesome. I agree about the rounder tip for young'uns. I just cut up an apple and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hello, I love my para 2 digicamo. Itīs my EDC for a couple months.
What I would like to change is the shape of the blade. Little bit longer and looks similar to stretch. What about Para 3 for next year? It will be great.

Here are two Buck 110 customs I just finished.
New SS liners, G-10 scales and fiber liners, new pivot pins and T-8 TORX.
My Green Tree Boa has a Titanium clip, and a CPM-154CM blade.
Jade Queen is a sheath knife. The stock 420HC blade is just a place holder. I am putting in a Black S30V blade, and changing to black screws, soon.

    Green Tree Boa

    And here's the Jade Queen
