The scales were replaced with new. I got the G-10 here.
The green scales look thick. Am I seeing things? The screw holes seem countersunk quite a bit. I may be seeing things again. What thickness did you order? Also, I just checked the site with a quick look. Are the prices per piece or per set of two scales? I've never seen that site before and will probably try them the next time I order something. I don't do much but once in a while I get excited and try something. So far, new scales are the only thing I've done. I like it because that can completely change the appearance and/or feel of a knife without taking a chance of screwing something important up and the knife not work or work poorly.

Yeah, the lime scales are too thick, but the Resilience is a BIG knife. The Lime was .193. I would recommend for exposed liners, .090-.100, and for nested liners .130 to .150, depending on whether it is a liner lock or lock back. You need more width for a nested liner lock.
When you look at the prices, it is for sheets up to 11x8". Even with a big folder, that should get you 4-5 sets of scales. For 16-18.00, that's pretty good.
For a big Fixed blade, 3-4 sets (of 2).

    Thank you!
Considering I free handed all the clips, they aren't bad. I am getting better at it and I think they will start looking more consistent pretty soon.
Just have to work out my "style" and try to make them all the same at that point. I am about to try to make some low rides, so wish me luck on that.

Thanks for the info. I don't know if I'd call the green scales TOO thick. They look great and probably give the knife a fuller feel. I got some layered G-10 once of red/black but bought it too thin. I didn't have enough thickness to give it enough curvature to show the layers. I thought if the scales were thicker and I countersank the screw holes enough I could get the desired result. Of course for a folder thickening the handle might make pocket carry less comfortable.

4 or 5 sets of scales for under $20 is really good. Next time I get energetic I'll order from that site. Thanks again.

    Blue Tenacious Lightweight

Teaser pics for my Blu Vu-Doo Tenacious.
    Added Royal Blue G-10 Scales.
Cut down steel liners and nested what was left. Added Endura pins with homemade polished Stainless spacer bushings, and black T-9 TORX screws. Titanium clip (low ride, but not on this Blu Vu-Doo. The NEXT one I do will be a real low ride).
    No lanyard hole.
New weight is 3.1 OZ and the next one will be below 3.0 oz.

Here it is apart and I am appraising what I can do and the parts I need.

The bottom liner was cut MUCH more than this pic. Looks more like the top liner. I have lost all the new work log pics. Will make sure the next one is documented.

Look Ma, NO steel liners! Yes, they are there, just nested.

Another scale pic showing the polished and flamed TI pocket clip.

Will post a few finished pictures when the sun is out, maybe tomorrow, if anyone is interested.

From the pics, it looks like you recessed the spyderco logo on the scales. Amirite?

Jazz, something looks different about the blade. Did you drop the spine a bit?

Just made the blade a tad more pointy - took a little off the top.

I love that Jester! I wish they still made them. The one I really want is the Toxic Green FRN in serrated edge
