Here is my follow up thread on how the EDS (Every Day Shaver) worked straight from Tom and the regrind. My micrometer says that this one is 0.005 behind the edge.
Here is my new EDS next to my two previous models. The new one is the Atlantic Salt that Tom reground for me. The middle one is a Native Lightweight that I did a high hollow grind that came out very well. It came out to 0.016 behind the edge and worked well as a shaver.
I did nothing to this edge for the first side of my face. Tom called me the day after I got the package and asked how the first shave went. I had not taken the “glamour” shots that I wanted to so I told him I would get a thread up about it on Friday. Tom used a finer belt on the edge of my Atlantic Salt because he knew what I planned to use it for when it got back to me. So this edge was a 600 grit belt and them polished the way he normally does his edges. As usual Tom’s edge was very sharp and swept the hair right off of my arm. I will say that the first side shave was less comfortable than I am accustomed to at this time. Here is the first side set of pictures.
