    Catcherman, The less photographed Spyderco

The less photographed Spyderco. I can't say why, but there are very few pictures of it. If you have an Spyderco Catcherman, post your pictures here!!!

Anybody have a picture of the full flat grind and MBS-26 steel version? I never saw a picture of one of these.

Sorry to bring up a old thread but I was looking for pictures to verify weather or not a catcherman I saw at a local hardware store is real or not. It looked just like the one in the pictures above, spider bug and clipit/catcherman on the handle, except it had more letters or numbers on the steel type. It was $50 and I was going to buy it but changed my mind last minute so I could check here first. Without pictures does the description sound legit? Is that a good price for a catcherman?

I got a picture. Catcherman is at the very bottom. They are listed as a Spyderco dealer on this site so I guess I can trust that it's real. I just wasnt sure because they have a T-mag labeled as a chinook and a few stainless natives labeled as dual edge delica. On the upper shelf not in the picture they have a bunch of spyderco kitchen knives and jesters. Good prices too, gonna go back next weekend.
Look at the top row too

Thumbs up The Catcherman: A Spyderco "super user"

There is a select group of Spyders that were never really intended to ever become collector pieces, safe queens or elite models which become highly sought after. No there is a group of Spyders that I truly believe were intended to be hard use blades and are intended to be used to the utmost. I call this group/classification of select Spyders "Super USERS"

The Catcherman without a doubt is in that group of Spyders that I feel is intended to be used a lot and to be used hard. Being lucky enough to land one of the very rare, fully serrated AUS-8 model CAtchermans I soon discovered just how great of an all purpose blade that the Catcherman is.

Yes it is designed primarily to be a fishing fillet knife. But let me tell you it is a jewell to use to cut up deer tenderloins. I just love to use my Catcherman and Temperance 1 in the kitchen to chop up veggies and do other food preparation with.

The Catcherman is an under-appreciated Spyder. Yes most definitely bring it back in H-1. But don't stop there!! Also make one available in VG-10 too. What a super boost to the Salt SEries an H-1 CAtcherman would be.

I was going to ask for a pic with the Catcherman in hand but the pic against the Chinook was worthy. this knife is long!

On a side note the Spyderco Saw is one crazy cutter, the teeth on it are so sharp, seriously, i still cant figure out how they created the teeth on a machine? its one of those knives you need to push your finger tips against to understand.

I wouldn't mind a Catherman, it looks like a very useful knife. There was one at a store down the road, but the price is way too much (something like $190!). A pity, it could come in very handy.
