I was just told that I'm getting a custom randall knife

I was ordering cutlery for my parents. For friends and family and I guess that's why it came up plus it being right about Christmas. But my dad told me that sometime in 2006. He custom ordered me a randall knife. A six-inch model 3 the Hunter model. I have always wanted to get a knife from my family has kind of a confirmation that they don't think I'm completely off the wall in my hobby. And this is a very firm confirmation. I don't know exactly where he got the idea. I know Randall knives of course. But never remember assessing about them. Very well-made collectors pieces, they would do very well for real-world use if necessary. I'm assuming it's going to be 0-1 which I think would be the default steel, I'm not sure what the default handle is probably stacked leather. I don't even know what the options are and I'm pretty sure he didn't no what they were or I'm wondering what the basic custom default would be. really throws me off guard.still very amazed.

Congratulations - that is great news, both about the knife itself, as well as the confirmation of your family's acceptance of your interest in knives.

Will you post pictures after Christmas? I'd definitely like to see it.

the delivery date isn't till 2010 . Unless my dad's putting on a really good act. I don't think the beginning of my Christmas. I have no idea what the wait list situation was in 2006. In fact besides the model and blade length. I don't think there's really much information to be had kind of maddening, in a pleasantly acceptable with of course

    Druid,

You are a very fortunate man, I had a Randall once, bought it from a soldier friend of mine, traded it, should have kept it. I know they are about 18 months in there backlog, patience grasshopper

Sorry; I assumed it was a Christmas gift.

Wow, ordered in 2006 for a 2010 delivery date? I don't have that kind of patience. At last you didn't know about it until recently - that makes the wait somewhat shorter for you.

    Great Gift

I have a model 20 and 21 . Found the 20 in a gun shop near mint for 60 bucks in early 80's . Then ordered the 21 in SS with Stag , took about a year back then . Designed by Ward Gay from Alaska , great pair of hunting knives . Enjoy upon the arrival . MG2
