    Early Left Handed P.I.G. Model

I couldn't find any pictures existing on the net so I thought I'd send up a couple so people could see what they look like. I bought this one from a table at a Pomona, CA gun show without a box in 1985 for $30. A lot of money at the time for a "Made in Japan" knife. I've carried it daily since.

Welcome, concho! The more lefties here the better! Spyderco is the most lefty-friendly knife maker I know of.

As a lefty, and a collector of Police models, I must say, I covet that knife of yours.

    Interesting pics.

I've got an old "non PIG lefty" Police model which was given to me by a friend around 1991. Although I'm right handed, I carried it for a number of years. Damn good knife.

Looking at your pictures, I notice that yours is a rare "flat scale" model. I've never seen one of those before.

    Thanks for sharing!

That's a real beauty! Nice to see that it's still in service too.

In the past Sal has said that back when they were making left handed and right handed versions of some models, only 20% of the production were left handed. That makes them quite scarce when compared with the right handed versions of the same knife.

It would be nice to see the blade not zoomed in on the "PIG" side...

I had one and didnt even know it

Concho I am a year late on the thread but after seeing the pics that you posted i went to check my stash of knives and knowing that i had a pig i was suprised to find that it was a left hander with flat scales just like your pics. (but a few more wear marks) I had carried it for a year or two when i got it. It was the first Spyderco i bought and never put together the fact that it carried oddly in my pocket and was a left hander. I didnt know the differance than. Wonder how may they made ? anybody care to guess?
