I doubt it very much & I don't think the price will jump subtanially as well in the upcoming years. There are many other knives I can think of being much more of a collectors knife in your terms.

I got the military. I chose it because if it doesn't go up in value, then I can use it

I think I saw somewhere mentioned a grand total of 1000 pcs for the C36CF90VP millie, but I've been wrong before
if by collectors item you mean that in a 2-3 yrs period the price will go sky high on this one, I think this may not be the case
for me it's just a splendid user, even if it doesn't see so much pocket time as my regular military in S30V

I choose ease of resharpening over edge retention, guess how I voted.

I used to worry, and prioritize "collectibles verses users" a while back, and was told by many Spyderminds here that all Spyderco's are made to be clipped, used, and sharpened, etc. I do think however, that some will hold, or grow in value, when others won't. Like theTi-Atr ...I was looking for one for a while, and found a sight that carried them for 750 bucks

Yeah i can understand people who feel that they should be used. My brother has a old non marked police PE he uses as his everyday carry. My work knives get used hard! yes i even pry with them now and then. but its a replaceable knife so i dont really care if i snap the blade. I have a few Theuns Prinsloo knives that i would never dream about doin such activities with.

Here is the knife i got from Theuns at the shot show

as for my work knives i use a cheap ass S&W folder which has held up for 2 years now. My camp and hiking knife is a gerber LMF

I do plain on getting a endura for EDC but for now im just buying collectibles

Oh wow! I'd rather spend a bit more and get immense enjoyment and satisfaction from using my knife than to get something and put it in a safe and use a "lesser" knife. Besides as someone said, if you're not going to use your knives, you can bet that your wife's new husband will.

It would be worth a bump if these were still available for a reasonable price tab. $500 is a bit steep.

I bought one for $187, wish I would have bought 10. I use mine daily and it still has the factory edge. The M390 CF Military will be in my hands today and it's what prompted a search.

Your poll presents a tough choice because it compares the Military M390 CF to every other available knife indirectly (by providing a vote for "There are better options for $200.00"). It's kind of like asking "should I get a red car or some other color?". Do you have other knives in mind?

I enjoy my S90V Military a great deal and carry it easily half the days of the week. It is one of my favorite knives, and yes I did pay a premium for it at the time.

That said I have now added 2 M390 Military's along side it. In my mind it is every bit as good a blade if not better. For anyone looking these days, get the M390 NOW. It is a great deal and I suspect it will not be so in 6 months.
    My current Spydercos: Military CF S90V, (2) Military CF M390, Navaja CF S30V, Superleaf CF VG-10, Manix 2 CF CTS-XHP, Manix 2 CF S90V, Paramilitary 2 CF S90V, Stretch 2 CF ZDP-189, Sage 1 CF S30V, Lum Chinese CF VG-10, Caly 3 CF ZDP-189, Chaparral CF S30V, Kiwi CF VG-10, Chicago CF S30V, Cat CF S30V, Schempp Rock VG-10, Temperance 2 VG-10
