I wouldn't have bought it if it was a pure Tanto blade, because this modified Tanto isn't as self-defense oriented, and I carry a knife for utility purposes rather than self-defense (Though if I genuinely thought my life was endangered or if I was attacked by a dog I'd be happy to have any knife), and I had a suspicion that the upswept part of the tip would be really nice getting up under the corner of stickers and such. It's why I typically prefer a leaf shaped blade (If I carry a Wharncliffe I'll have another knife with a leaf shaped blade), and this thing is even better than I was expecting for getting under the corner of stickers and for scraping gaskets off etc. It's very stout, the grind is absolutely beautiful, it also carries super nice, and is useful for typical box opening and the like as well...all said I'm very satisfied with it. The G10 will probably shred my pockets, but that's never been a concern for me as I've always rocked frayed pockets with pride. The clip on this is definitely the strongest wire clip I've ever had from Spyderco...it's almost hard to get it out of my pocket, and the back lock spring is also super stiff though I expect that will ease up a little over time. Haven't tried touching it up on the fine SharpMaker stones yet, but I probably will in a few weeks or so.
