    Exclamation Numbers on box ?

    I'm fortunate to be the proud owner of two Dodo's
    both in blue handle.plain edge.
    both purchased from different sellers.
    and both have different numbers on the box.

    I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me why identical
    knives have different numbers on the boxes?

    C80GPBL & C80GBLP

    thanks help would be appreciated

    Robbie

    I could be wrong, but I think this is how the label is decoded:

    C80 = knife model number
    G = G10 handle
    BL = blue color
    P = plain edge blade

    Perhaps the "P" on the second knife box just got transposed. Spyderco might have some occasional dyslexics working for them.

    It's higher order, highly classified, paramilitaristic Spyder code...

    The letters before the number are.
    C = Clipit
    K = Kitchen
    FB = Fixed Blade
    I'm sure I'm missing something.

    May I continue, Chris

    J = Jester
    L = Ladybug
    CX = Clipit Experimental
    MT = Mule Team
    KX = Kitchen Experimental
    BY = Byrd
    RL = Ramco Laguiole
    T = Tool?

    Now it's on me to say that I'm sure I'm missing something.

    And to further add to the confusion, don't forget how some of the early knife models changed their model number designations somewhere in the early 1990s:

    1001 Worker became the C01 Worker
    1002 Mariner became the C02 Mariner
    1003 Hunter became the C03 Hunter
    1004 Executive became the C04 Executive
    1005 Standard became the C05 Standard
    1007 Police became the C07 Police
    1008 Harpy became the C08 Harpy
    1009 CoPilot became the C09 CoPilot
