    Clips on Endura4 and Endura3

    Hi all,
the new Endura4 is great almost in all the ways. But one thing I've to mention against it and maybe someone has the same feeling like me.
The Endura's4 clip looks so conveniently, without bug on it,without chromium look and with little strange shaping of edges of the clip.
In short, the old clip on Endura3 is better than the new one on Endura4.

In other way,for me the new handle of Endura4 is now better ergonomically shaped than the old one .

So people, what do you think?

Since I prefer tip-down carry, which just isn't possible with the barrel bolt clip of the E3, I'll stick with the new clips. The rounded corners also reduce snagging and scratching, which my car's paint and upholstery appreciates.
I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.

Hi DrU2, I prefer the new clips (more options w/ 4 way mounting) which allows a "lower ride" in the pocket and I find them more ergonomic (rounded, chamfered edges).

    DrU2,

I'm gonna have to agree with the other guys. I really prefer the D4 and E4 clips much better. Thanks to Dialex for bringing that clip forth with the design of the Adventura (I think he was responsible but I'm not sure). The newer rounded clip I originally didn't like but now I love it. I think people have given it the nickname of the "Hourglass clip".

So,nobody agree with me that the older one was more comfortable looking ??
I must say that I haven't any oppotunity to try it on, so I can not evaluate usefullness of the new clip. The older one looks almost in same constructione as the clip on my CaraCara and whit that one heven't any problems.
Maybe I'll change my opinion while I'll be the new proud owener of Endura4 .

It is a question of personal opinion really. To me, the new clip is more refined and "artsy" looking. The rounded corners also serve more functionality as they don't snag or scratch as easily as the older clip corners.
Follow the mushin, but pay it no heed.

Hi DrU2, i'm sure there are many forumites who like the older barrel bolt style clip too and everyone's tastes are unique
I've come to realize that with most Spyderco Clipits, often times it is hard to judge the knife without actually holding/using it .... like the saying goes "you can't judge a book by its cover".....this seems to apply to most Clipits imho.
I unfortunately don't have the convenience of a nearby knifestore to check out Spyderco knives personally.... so I often shop vicariously on the internet

The new clip is the change I like the most.

I spend a good time last week to round off the clip of my Delica 3/SE to make it less likely to scratch things.

I am with the majority. The new clips are my favorite. I have Dremelled my old clips to a rounder profile to reduce wear & tear on clothes/cars/etc.

The only thing I really liked about the Barrel clip was it could be tightened/removed with a couple pennies if needed. The new ones need the appropriate driver which I don't always have on me. It's a small trade off though.

The clip on the D3 is the same as the Native 2, correct? If i'm correct that it is the same, then I much prefer the D4 clip. I have scratched some things with my Native 2 clip but nothing with the D4 clip. Call it co evolution in action.

I understand to all of you, but I do not evaluate the functionality just the look of the clips. Try to put away any experiences with wearing, handling etc.
Put both knives next to other one and just look at the clips.....I think that the old one suits to Endura whit SS handle more than the new one.

Do you see it??? The confessedly another looks of the both clips?

Am I so different than you? I must be from Mars or what !!!

I don't want to force anybody into opposite opinion, just want find someone who is gona agree with me a little.

To mrappraisit: Yes, I think the clip on D3 is the same as on the Native. Just with another fixation of the clip.

    Best regards to all

I think perhaps you are confusing the E2 and the E3. The E3 was FRN only, with the barrel bolt clip. The E2 was all stainless with a three screw clip set up for right hand mounting only. Same with the D2 and D3. From a purely esthetic perspective, in my book the new E4/D4 clip wins hands down.

Just on appearence, I still have to go with the new clip. In fact when I first saw it on the Adventura my first thought was that I hoped they used it for more knives.

I prefer the new clips, and handle ergo's; The handles are impecibly made, and the clips are rounded off, which make for a more discrete carry, and they do not catch on things the older clips would With this said, I have no complaint about the E, and D3 clips...I like wearing them as well.
