    Friday Picture Show: Micarta Lava/Navigator2

I just posted this thread over on bladeforums, spyderco subforums...

After seeing STR's work on forumite Bell's Lava and Navigator2 here:
    http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=494142
    http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=507656
I knew I had to get the same.....except with burgundy micarta scales. I love the ergos on both knives but don't carry them that much b/c of their weight....I favor loose in slacks pocket carry for "work". So these babys arrived yesterday and I couldn't be happier than "a pig in slop".
Each knife has chunky 3mm micarta scales and 3mm Ti backspacer combined with STR's Ti low rider clips combine for two strong but lightweight "Lil' Big Knives" I can't really comment on their weights b/c I have no scale at the moment. These low rider clips are awesome, with just the right amount of tension
The SS Navigator2 had a slight amount of vertical blade play that has now been eliminated.... thanks much Steve, great job
The Navigator2 is in the middle of the "spine shot" photos; comparison pix are with a Spin and a camo Boker Subcomfolder; the lighting isn't the greatest for these pix but I was feeling "trigger happy" this evening

Dude that is THE BEST Lava I've ever seen. I want one just like it. Daaaang that thing is hard. I love the thick chunky scales. Those are like Para-Military style thick. Very nice choices and awesome work by Steve.

Those look great. Amazing in fact. I have been wanting to get a lava for quite a while but that almost seals the deal.

Is that Linen based Micarta? I wonder what that would look like on a Cricket.

    Brian,

It is not my photo in 2008 catalog!
Spyderco just asked me to borrow an idea of the mirror shot and let their photographer do the job.

And whatever I said about you pictures is not a compliment, it's a fact.
    WhyNot.
