I like the idea of a folding dagger, but for me a liner lock is a non-starter for any type of serious work. Otherwise, there are some things I like about that knife, such as the dagger format overall and the fact that the hand guards will probably function well as waves, and things I don't like, such as the fact that it looks like it feel and handle clunkily and the bevels are too narrow.
I never had a chance to handle one, but change the lock and reapply! I read an article a year or so ago, I think Michael Janich penned it. A folding dagger this thing could be, due to the fact that the blade is fully housed inside of the handle, so the top edge could be sharpened and used for....Take care and God Bless!

Dete,
I have yet to handle one. I do have the fixed blade (gifted to me by the good Dr. Lecter). It is a substantial piece of equipment. The balance on the fixed blade is good, but it is definitely a heavy knife. It is not as lively as many of my fixed blades. It does have a nasty pointed steel punyo which seems to have been somewhat replicated on the folder. On the fixed blade, though, the point is the continuation of the tang, which makes for a strong knife and some devastating punyo strikes. In addition, the blade on the fixed blade is far wider.
i, like Joe, am not a big fan of the liner lock for serious work. However, I will make exceptions for certain knives, after I have tested them and used them a bit. In self defense situations I put most of the stress on the blade in the direction that it opens, rather than closes. However, there are some trapping maneuvers I like that I will do with only a very few folders and really prefer to do only with fixed blades, because "closing pressure" is put on the back of the blades. In general, I just don't do these type of maneuvers with folders. I would not be too comfortable using the back edge of the folder in question if it were sharpened, due to the pressure being directed toward closing the knife. In SD, of course, what happens, happens, and your best plans go awry, so I try to go for the best locks I can find or, better yet, use a fixed blade. With all the other gear I carry, when in "Supervisory Special Agent" mode and in a suit, I don't often carry a fixed blade. So far, all the exceptions in regard to liner locks wear the Emerson or Spyderco logos.

thanx for the replies everyone!![]()
yes I'm partial to many of you, liner locks are a big turn off.
And yeah Kali G-man, that punyo looks pretty painful!
used closed as a palm stick, it maybe pretty good,
but as stated a bit large, and also dagger possibilities... unless your in the movie Escape from NY hehehe, just plain scary,
not really a knife for urban carry is it huh?
I like the classical Wee-Hawk design of the blade....That's about it!...Doc![]()

A Folding dagger would need a very strong lock. I don't like aluminium handles, and 440C isn't up to my standards any more for a serious use knife. For that price they could do much better. The basic idea is ok though. Joe

I have never handled this one, but I think it would be a better choice.
Looks like it would need a clip flip for the wave to work.
Great steel, and a nice strong frame lock............................![]()
yeah Mastiff I do like the "basic" idea,
&
the frame lock does sound much stronger, but no punyo![]()
I would prefer the fixed version... or at least framelock. And a narrower blade.
Concluded, I would be able to make it work, but I wouldn't like to.
...but no, no, you know it all, it's harmless little bunny...
