Knifecollecting A Tradition From Gen.to Gen?

Dontknow, if its the same with some of you guys, but my grandfather was a knifecollector, and had quite a selection of small knives, mostly non locking folders but real nice pieces.
Now, mostly all of his knives were given to his sons and grandsons, including myself.
The one, i have, is A very swissarmy style pocketknife, with a large blade and small blade and brass scales. This small pocketknife is called a Krugerknife, like the gold Krugerrands in S-Africa,which is a collectors item, amongst coincollectors.
I remeber when i was about 5years old and my mom, showed me this small pocketknife and i asked her when i'll be old enough to receive it.
6years later i was given the knife on my 11th b/day along with some other gifts.
I was using my first pocketknife, passed on from my grandfather, proudly, opening my gifts and slicing b/day cake into small pieces.
And this is how my love for knives started...
Today im 29years of age and im a proud Spydie collector.I just wish Spydies were also around, when my grandfather was a young knifecollector.
Maybe then, he also would have had a couple of Spydie bites,im sure.
    2 B Continued.

I got my first knife on my 11th birthday, as well.

However, my real entry into the knife world was 6 months ago when I got my Byrd Cara Cara.
    Back from an extended hiatus.

My Grandpa gave me my first pocket knife as well when I was 9. I have never gone anywhere without a knife since that day.

My first knife was an SAK on my 12th birthday. It will always have a special place in my collection.
