Question How do you get a lanyard through the hole?

How do you get the lanyards through the lanyard hole if the lanyard is already finished and the top (where it attaches at the knife) is just a loop?

I've tried folding it and pushing it through (a Native III) but it just doesn't seem to want to go.

By the way I'll post some pics of a few lanyards that datan made me. Thanks Dan! I love the lanyards but I don't want to cut them to get them on the knife.

Hey David, If you take a small strand of string, dental floss, inner strand of paracord. etc... loop it through the lanyard loop, and then pull it through the lanyard hole...should solve it for you. Then once through the lanyard hole, just loop the remaninder of the lanyard through the lanyard loop and pull tight . Hope this helps a bit. Take Good Care and Be Safe Always .

    God Bless

I am assuming the loop has the inside strands removed. This makes it easier to get the lanyard through. I've had good success with a paper clip bent so I can put the clip through the lanyard hole on the knife and then grab the loop with the bent "hook" end of the clip and pull the lanyard through. You have to be careful using the paperclip as if you're not careful you can scratch the finish. So far I haven't had any issues with this technique. Lately I've been making my own lanyards and what I do is put the lanyard through the hole first and then begin my knot work.

    Raven, datan, and OuchThatsSharp,

The dental floss worked like a champ. Now I gotta get some pics of these bad boys.

    Woohoo! Thanks!

And yes the inside strands seem to have been removed.

Now I gotta visit the Lanyard threads again because now I want to make some of my own, or at least try my hand at it.

The string works great on smaller holes.

cute video, goths with knives! I don't recommend people fight with their pinky wedged into a lanyard loop, if they want to keep their pinky!
