    *bump*

That's just what I scored last week for a very reasonable price!

A PE Japan made AUS-6 Meerkat LNIB. It is just a cute little knife with a wire clip that makes it disappear in your watch pocket. Still it cuts like a big one when it comes to cardboard or similar cutting chores.

The phantom lock makes it fun to turn it over to knife-interested people around me (that I try to educate for quite a while now, with some success).

Most of them can't figure it out how to close it

I'm proud to have one in my posession at last though; took me quite a while to get it; they're surprisingly hard to come by. I do like the blade of the Cricket, but the handle is just a bit too small for me to EDC, so this one is perfect as a "second" EDC knife (or actually third, I carry a SAK on my keyring ever since I watched MacGyver 20 years ago ).

PS: Pics to come, stay tuned.

The reverse S Meerkat is one of my all time favorite Spyderco Knives. I have small hands it fits perfectly as an EDC. I currently have 6 in my collection including 440C version

I wish Spyderco would make more reverse S blades like the Cricket, Meerkat and Dodo!

The big Slick! Share your pics too!

    well, here it is!
I think its just one awesome knife! I love my manix, and its a tank, but this one is lean and mean, slick all the way! So I call it The Big Slick

manix vs ATR, the cutting edge is just 1mm longer in the Manix.

And yes,. there's a story behind that clip.. more pics and an explanation to follow later.

So, I'd like to see your ATR:s too! There's not so many pics around, when I searched.

    The clip..

Long story short. I got this Slick in the mail today, and was in heaven when I opened the package. But just after 15mins, and I was so pissed off (to myself), that there's nothing to compare with. You know, first, you get a knife that you instantly fall in love with, and then, you brake it.

    What happened then?
Well, I'm a lefty. I changed the clip to suit my needs. after testing it for a while, i realized, that this is one tough clip.It bites to my pocket and won't let go. So, I got a bright idea: I'll just bend it a little, and put it back.

After some tinkering, I was almost pleased with it.But no- I had to try to adjust it just a little bit more... and yes, it snapped!!
I was so furious to myself that I cant remember the last time I was so pissed off!

well, after settling down, I figured that I'll have to get some kind of clip for it, so I can carry it. Luckily(?) I had my D-fly's clip just sitting in the drawer, so- with a little finetuning=> It looks stupid, but it works.

Eventually, I'll track down a new one, or get me some spring steel and try to make a new one.

That's one hell of a knife, but I would continue your search for the right clip, kind of looks like a band aid.

Nice ATR. I'll bet STR could make a custom, titanium duplicate for you. I't's worth asking, anyway.

I feel sorry for your misadventure with the clip.
As your picutres are excellent I hope to see new ones with new clip (IMHO the standard clip is not exactly brilliant on the A.T.R. )

    The clip

I've never really been into the ATR but your pics are great! I love far swedge grinds, kinda like pigtails on girls for me

BTW, about the clip. I havent handled on of these or know the sizes but would a Millie or Paramillie clip fit better? they both have a 3 screw pattern. I stripped the clip on my d2 para and it looks great. or maybe a barrel screw clip off a Salt series knife would do? then ya still got a ti clip

I may be in the minority but I think this clip looks better than the stock pocket eater. The STR Ti option would be really cool
Please post a new pic if you get a custom clip, it would be cool to see.

One of the only things that kept me from getting one earlier when they were easy pickins was the clip, if I had known the D'fly clip would work so readily, I'd of tried it. It looks good to me. Oh well, one more for the list... thanks, good info.

I guess I'll show of my ATR's. The black one is my EDC. I am kinda keeping my eye out for anoter black one and a Ti but usually I am too slow or they are too pricey.

First time I am posting a picture from Photobucket so hope it works. I should start using my XSi for pictures but I am not to proficient at reducing the image size or using the camera yet.

Hey Nightdog, the black ATR was the first one I purchased of the three, the second I ever purchased. It was about 3 years ago when I kinda was trying to get back into 's. I really didn't start buying more knives till this year. But to me the black makes it look smaller since its not all shiny. A little less noticeable. It felt kinda big and heavy at first but but now it feels just right balances nicely in the palm.

    Kev.
