    Lignum Vitae and Slovakian Onyx

Latest additions to the flock arrived yesterday. Got the urge for a Kiwi to go with my Stretch, and STR was kind enough to send me some Lignum Vitae...

And, as I've mentioned before, my good friend Jano aka 224477 sent me some Slovakian Onyx to put on one...

Hope to get better pictures of both when I have some daylight to work with.

Very, very nice pictures of some very, very nice knives.
It's such a pity that it's almost impossible to capture the true colour of that malachite and lapis lazuli. Those must look gorgeous in real life.

Oh, btw, if you splash molten gold on ice, you wouldn't have much ice left.

congrats on the new Kiwi flavors Paul, that Onyx one is very interesting but I've gotta admit that I prefer wood to rocks/minerals and this one makes me a little jealous ...

I like the picture, Paul! A lot to see for my eyes and a lot of work for you to orientate all these Kiwis.

BTW, actually I hold five Kiwis, I'm on a good way.

Wow... seeing them all individually is one thing, but as a flock, that's just amazing!

This is a truly impressive collection, Paul.

My personal favorites are the Jet, the Turquoise and the Denim Lapis.

On a sidenote, I visited Kiwimania, and I was extremely impressed with how your divided your flock pic so that clicking on any of the knives takes you to the description and a close-up pic. An excellent finishing touch to a wonderful picture.

    Space Invaders

Just received these from Santa Fe Stoneworks. The first is my long awaited Earthling Kiwi, the second a slight variation on the same theme using a more orange stone for Saturn. Anna Wirtel calls it "Tequila Sunrise". When you consider the size difference between a Police and a Kiwi it's rather amazing that even the two gentlemen responsible for Santa Fe's marquetry, talented as they are, could pull these off.

This last is to show just how much smaller the Earthling Kiwi is compared with the Earthling Police...

alright Paul, i've gotta ask what are the "constituent materials" that go into this fantastic marquetry specimen including the wood
