    Spyder with a Spider

Took these shots of my new Co-Pilot that NGK delivered today (I have no idea who collector 90 is).

This thing is begging for a fob so I ordered some black paracord!

Look closely and you'll see a bonus that I didn't even see when taking the pics......

Nice pics. How do you like it? I've never held one or seen one in person.

Oh man! I think that's a Brown Recluse! Did you get bitten?! Did you die?!

No, but seriously, nice pics. New knives are always fun

I like it so far, but I've already been bitten by it! The knife, not the spider.

Its about the same size as my D-fly, but much much lighter and with smoother more flowing lines.

I think it will go into my "inside the pocket without using the clip" rotation once I get a fob made for it.

Nope, too small and wrong body structure to be a Brown Recluse. BRs are around 1" wide including the legs, by the scale of that picture, that particular spider would be about 1/4".

Also, the BR is a hunter, as opposed to a web spinner(though it does spin a small web for it's home). That means it stalks it's prey on foot rather than wait for something to come into it's web. Web weaving spiders typically have larger, more bulbous abdomens, such as the one in that picture.

Considering it's size, I'd bet that one is either a Crab Spider, or a very small run of the mill Garden Spider.

Pictures are very clear though, nice work Zatx

yea -- that is definitely not a brown recluse.

i was about 75% sure i had been bitten by one while i was in africa... ended up being a very peculiar wart...

    Thanks for the compliments.

My pictures are much better now that I remembered my camera has a "Macro" setting for taking pictures at less than 18 inches from the lens.

The most challenging thing I find to taking pictures is finding time when the wife isn't home. She already thinks I'm nuts and her seeing me taking pictures of a knife only serves to reinforce her opinion. Plus she is never shy about sharing the opinion.
