I've heard of these models, but I couldn't find any pictures. Are there pictures anywhere?

Don't recall either of those, unless someone was referring to one of Dialex's designs. (which is what name Dialica brings to mind)

Both names sound like a play on words...perhaps the Dialica is an Adventura...or one of Dialex's designs that someone had hoped Spyderco would adopt.
Droolica well that could be any sort of dream Delica design modification...
Follow the mushin, but pay it no heed.
The SEARCH function here works great!
"Dialica" is the nickname given by Daywalker to Dialex's customized Delica.
Here's the original thread that outlines its specs. The photos that were attached to posts here disappeard during the most recent site upgrade - in Sept 2004 - but here's a later thread where he posted some shots of it.
"Droolica" is another of Daywalker's coined nicknames. Not 100% sure on this one, but I believe it refers to one of the "artist's conceptions" someone (perhaps Alex, perhaps me, perhaps someone else) posted in the thread where Sal was asking for suggestions on upgrading the Delica.

Thanks, Deacon!
I had tried searching for it, and had found the thread with the specs, but couldn't find any pics, which was what I had been hoping for. When I searched, I naturally clicked on the thread labeled "Delica a la Dialex", but my eye skimmed over the thread entitled "New idea for the Delica".
Thanks for the links!

I was emailing Daywalker earlier, and asked him if he recalled what "Droolica" referred to. Might be a couple days, but will let you know what he says.

Hi Blackhair. Old threads coming to life, thanks for the memories...
Nice detective work, Paul. Indeed, this is the Dialica (as Daywalker used to call it)Sorry for the crappy pics, I just took them with my phone.
As for the Droolica, I'm almost sure it is a Gary Blanchard Delica with which the Deacon likes to tease us now and then (when he thinks we've lost our interest)![]()

Hmm, don't have a Blanchard Delica, but think you might be on the right track.Originally Posted by dialex

What? You're actually cutting onion with that beauty?![]()
Sorry for the confusion between Blanchard and Hunt.Looks like your Delica has the engraving made directly on the scales, not some slabs attached to the original handles.
