the caly 3 has gotten me thinking about the spydies i consider to be "perfect" EDC knives. it's too hard for me to pick one, so i went with a top five.

I like your top 5 clovisc! I would just swap the military for the para. Course my fav changes way too often cause there are so many perfect Spydies for EDC.
Good choices so far guysHowever the best EDC Spyder barr none is the C-44 Big Dyad. With a set up of literally the best of both cutting worlds you have a full sized, sheepsfoot serrated blade along with a streamlined, flat grind, plain edged blade that is just so handy that there are few cutting jobs it can't do.
I have carried my Big Dyad for exactly 2 years this month. It has been a friend, a favorite tool and on several occasions a real life saver of a blade. Not to mention I can't hardly get through a workday without it. I think at this point I would fell more of a void being without my Big Dyad than with any other of my favorite Spyders.
Oh yes I have companion EDCs I carry with it. There is a rotation process I use. Right at this time I also carry my G-10 Harpy and ZDP-189 CAlypso JR.
What can I say??? LiFE IS GOOD here in Spyderville![]()
Long Live the SPYDEREDGE Spyderco Hawkbills RULE!!
For me it's the Para Military and the Caly 3, if I had a 75mm Persian, I'd probably consider it a "perfect" EDC for me, too.

For the tasks I use a knife that size to perform, the Kiwi is perfect straight out of the box. In a larger blade, the Stretch and C83 Schempp Persian come closest. Have a Persian out to Tom Krein getting a full flat grind, if he can get rid of all the hollow it will make an excellent knife even better for me. Also decided to have STR re-do the Stretch he customized for me in lignum vitae. The canvas micarta worked well but looked too utilitarian for my tastes.

I have a feeling the T-Mag is going to make an excellent EDC for me!![]()

I try to keep rotating to check them all out, but I keep coming back to the Jesse Horn ZDP. Perfect for an office setting and cuts whatever I ask it to.
