New Spydie (Byrd) in the house

    hi to everyone,

this is my first post and I tought I share my newest knife with a couple pictures for you.

today my Byrd Raven arrived and I must say it is a VERY impressive knife, especially considered the price. I'm very pleased with the build quality and with its cutting abilities. it's not scary sharp, but undoubtedly sharp enough for a serious cutting tool.

usually I like backlock folders a bit more and this is my first liner lock folder. I certainly didn't expect the blade opening that smooth, I really like that. no problems with the liner lock to close the knife except when I flick it open fast, in that case the liner lock will jam a bit. but a drop of oil already solved that "problem".

okay enough words, here are three pictures of the knife:

although I'm new to this forum, I'm not new to the Spyderco world. here's a picture of the raven and its fellows

I still own a couple more Spydies, but those are at my girl friends house right now, so I can't take any pics, sorry.

    regards, hans

Nice score, hans! And welcome to Spyderco Forums!

I really need to get me a "full size" Byrd to test fly. I only have an SS Finch and a Firebyrd (which I keep in a kitchen drawer as my dedicated bottle opener).

    Thanks for the pics!

Very nice. I have both the raven and the crow, and that crow is the smoothest knife I have ever opened.
