    Patents?

I am still new to spyderco and I just wanted to know a few things, I know the spyderhole is one of spydies patents, but was the first to bring out serrations, and was the first to bring out the pocket clip for one hand opening?

Last but not least. Just downloaded a wallpaper and it says "reliable high performance". Is that spyderco's saying etc? Doesn't stand on my box

    Thank you for any help.

Luck for you, Google has their own easy to use patent searches. I have already assembled the list for you, please feel free to look through them HERE

AFAIK, they were the first to use serrations on a pocket knife. Kitchen and table knives had been using them for years, but the serrations were always of equal size. I believe Spyderco's patent covered both the pattern of the Spyderedge (2 small, 1 large, repeat) Ditto on the pocket clip, those had been used on pens, mechanical pencils, and other things for decades but Spyderco was the first to apply the idea to pocket knives. So again, that usage, rather than the concept of the pocket clip itself, was the basis for their patent.

And yes, "Reliable high performance" is one of Spyderco's trademarked slogans. Among other places it is used on this Spdyerco cap.

Just one little bit to add, the "Spyderhole patent" was for "a depression in the blade designed to facilitate one handed opening" (or something like that). Note that the patent has now expired, however, the Spyderhole is trademarked.
