Hi all, today i carried my latest byrd....a plainedge G-10 Robin....I had high hopes for this one as I love my PE/SE S.S. Robins.....this "intermediate" size of the byrd line seems to find its way into my pants pockets more often than either the Meadowlark (or even bigger Cara Cara)....methinks the Robin's size will hopefully become a runaway bestseller and fill the niche for the byrd market that the Delica4 does for the-market..

Fit, finish and overall ergos of this G-10 specimen I received from my favorite Pharmacy, is excellent....no blade play, solid lockup, blade centered in closed position....the edge was pleasingly sharp out of box....comparable to that on any of my Delica4's.....this might sound like heresy, but IMHO the Comet shaped hole feels more comfortable and provides more traction for the thumb on the smaller folding knives from the Robin size on down....and I Much prefer the comet hole on "jester sized" knives such as the Finch and Starling.....I like the jimping on the spine cusp/forefinger choil.....I like the "coarseness" of the G10 texture on this byrd.....as its not as rough as that on my Yojimbo but not as smooth as that on my G10 BladeTech Mouse (which I feel is too smooth.).
Anyhow this knife easily comes as "highly recommended".... and shouldn't disappoint anyone who is fond of sharp toys...![]()
Here's some photos with my AUS8 FRN Dragonfly and SS byrd Finch for comparison....

Hey Spydiman, the Robin feels much sturdier than the FRN D'fly, but is heavier and has a "chunkier" profile /thickness in the pocket.....the G10 Robin feels like it can take more abuse tho'....I'd even say the G10 Robin feels comparable to my Bladetech G10 Mouse in the pocket....
