I'll take more, but apparently the lights get VERY hot, so they're under a few fans cooling off.

edit: I should probably work on being a little less "contrast happy" in post production, shouldn't I? Mainly with the Lava, but you can sort of see it with the Spyderfly. I may go back and fix them again.

The sharper they are the less they hurt when you cut yourself.

they came out very nice. i just built a cheap lightbox for myself. currently i have two clamp-on lamps for lighting. the bulbs are the 4-choil type (the look like a glass spring) at a 100-Watt equivalent. But I still don't think I have enough lighting for my spyderco pics.

what kind of lighting are you using?

I've had the same problem for a really long time, untill Ted gave me a good tip. Try to find the white balance setting on your camera, and adjust it to compensate for the lamps. Depending on your camera it can either be manually adjusted or maybe there's a setting for indoor lighting (as was the case with my camera).

yep, I use the custom white balance on my camera, it helps ALOT. I'm using the two cheap lights that came with it, and I've found my Surefire on top of the lightbox makes a nice addition (the ones with shadows have my Surefire on top). Have any other lightbox-ers found that the further away from the box the lights are, the better?

Edit: the side lamps are 50 watts each at 2800K, and my Surefire is 60 lumens at very very white.
