    Question Spyderco Storage

Looking for a good way to store and/ or travel with my Spydies. I'm sick of just leaving them in my dresser drawer, and having to throw them in my bag loose when I want to travel.

I've seen the SpyderPacs available from Spyderco, which I would really like to have, but for $80 I could get a new Spydie instead of a case! I've also seen the zip-up cases available from www.brigadeqm.com. I've found other so-called storage cases, but some of these do not have slots large enough to accommodate a Spyderco folder....

Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I've heard good things about Sack-Ups knife rolls. Cost around $10. I just ordered a couple to house my collection as i'm in the same situation as you having them stored it their boxes.

I'll update tomorrow if I remember.

Those plastic storage boxes with the little plastic dividers that you can add or remove as needed. They come in various sizes and should hold most Spydercos.

I think someone posted about them just recently. I will search.

Plastic storage boxes, especially some of the ones Plano makes with adjustable dividers to store fishing lures, are excellent when lined with fairly rigid foam.

2 deck screws and a few feet of 1" tube webbing.

Still working on a good method for travel storage, but Paul might be onto something

Well, I got my Sack-Ups knife rolls today. While the materials are great and they seem very sturdy, I must say i'm a bit disappointed.

The velcro dots on the roll are merely stuck on with a bit of sticky adhesive, and here's the killer, all of my Spydies save the Jester and Kiwi are an extremely tight fit due to their width. The Meadowlark is among one of the hardest fits along with the Natives. The Delicas seem to squeeze in decently even though they're pretty wide. The Calypso 3 is nearly impossible to squeeze in one of the slots and i'm sure the bigger Spydies like the Para, Military, and Manixes will not fit at all without modification.
My SAKs, Mini Grips, Fallkniven U2, and slippies go in with ease but it just does not seem too spydie friendly. It works fine for more narrow knives but it probably isn't the best for most of us here with a lot of Spydies.

Sorry to hear the sack ups didn't work. I'm thinking about trying to see if I can make something similar to the sack ups that will fit large folders like the Manix and ChinookII.

    Awesome idea with the webbing.

    Thanks to all.

Thanks, Ken, but you might need a few more screws and another couple feet of webbing to store YOUR collection like that

i became a big fan of otterboxes when i was in africa... waterproof, crushproof, and there's a little place you can put a small lock on them. i've got a mid-sized one that fits my sharpmaker snuggly, with room for a few blades (wrapped in cloth) on top of it. a pretty solid choice for travel.
