My girlfriends confiscated ladybug on ebay

I gave my girlfriend a red ladybug about 6 months ago, she kept it in her backpack that she takes everywhere. Last month she forgot about it on a plane trip and it was confiscated at LAX.

Randomly today i was searching ebay and look what I find...

The lanyard gives it away, the 2 overhands + melted together loop is what i prefer on my small spidies (good for attaching to carabiners)

Just thought it was funny to see it up there. I probably wont buy it back since it I bought it from an NTSA confiscation auction anyway and it had some significant blade play (i peened the pivot and it still has some blade play, and it a bit stiff on opening)

I can't say I'm a big fan of government seizures and sales of lawfully owned property, but on the other hand "no knives on a plane" is pretty common knowledge.
Follow the mushin, but pay it no heed.

That's really funny. I might end up bidding on it, I'm starting a little collection of the LBK's--so far I have 2 . I don't have the red yet, and confiscated knives usually end up being somewhat cheap.

Yeah, but...I gave my girlfriend a serrated Delica a while back. I need to sharpen (read nearly regrind) the serrations on it AGAIN (just did that a couple of weeks ago) so I was thinking about bidding on that one for the other knife. Tell you what, if you don't run it up on me, I'll mail the Ladybug to whoever wants it

No worries mate, I don't really need annother ladybug. I should really save up for something cool, like a tasman or a manix or.... well, just about anything but what I already have .

Just curious, is your ebay name similar to your forum name here? I remember that not too long ago I bid against a yablanowitz for some spyderco knife.

Yup, that was me. I use yablanowitz on EBay, forums and anyplace else that requires a user name. I know I am not the only Jack Rich in the world, but yablanowitz never seems to be "already in use" when I register somewhere

Cool, cool. I thought so, but ya never know. I was just wondering if it would be a good thing or a bad thing to know who's who on ebay.

So, how many LBK variations were there? I only know of a few different colors: black, blue, red, green and SE, PE, and CE, and I've only seen the CF once. I guess there was also the Photon ones. Wow, there's a lot of them. I probably won't collect them all, well not until I'm a rich engineer and already have every other spydie

Though I really would not mind having one of those, TeamAlan seems to be the person who's rightfully entitled to this one out of any of us.
yablanowitz, thanks for the offer though.

lets see -Yellow, Pink, Green in 2 types, Grey, Black, Red, Blue in PE, all the above in CE except only one Green model and add Carbon Fiber, Black in SE.

This is one time I totally agree with ZEN. Keep in mind however that I will not under any conditions buy any property that was seized from decent citizens that end up in these corrupt government auctions . Nor will I bid on any of these auctions that the states like Kentucky, California, Florida and a few others put up on Ebay auctions with their confiscated property.

But he is right in this case because you just have to be aware of the current rules and take them seriously. I check, double check and triple check what I take in my carry on luggage. Then I also declare any knives or other questionable items I may have packed in my "check on" luggage that goes in the bottom of the plane fuscilage. With these ultra-draconian rules that the NTSA has implemented you just got to cover you bases and your rear end. You just got to take air travel seriously in this current climate. If you fail to do that you are just going to be saddened by the results.
Long Live the SPYDEREDGE Spyderco Hawkbills RULE!!

This Japanese online retailer seems to have any color/blade combination Jester or Ladybug you've ever imagined.
