    Interesting knife carry law question

Ok here's the deal. My EDC is so messed up it's just not practical to EDC anymore (I'm getting a Waved Endura ASAP), so all I have left is my Spyderfly. now can I legally carry my Spyderfly and say I carry it for utility as opposed to self defense? I live in Georgia by the way.

How you carry yourself, how you behave and how old you are will determine how you are treated if you run into a cop questioning you about your Bali. A 35 year old guy with kids will be less apt to be "in trouble" than a 19 year old.

I agree with David, but I also think the style of knife can play a role in the reaction of a LEO or judge. And I wouldn't have it on me within 1000 feet of a school.

I would suggest checking the knife laws section of bladeforums.com, and utilizing the resources provided there to check your laws. No offense to anyone who already answered, but are you willing to lay your legal butt on the line based on the opinions of several random knife knuts who live in different states? Heck even in the same state, your city may have different laws.

Zen I think I checked the knifelaws on BF and I didn't see anything about Bali's in Georgia, especially for utility instead of self defense. I know you can carry a folder for utility, but you can't carry anything for self defense.

Remember, it's going to be up to you to prove it's for utility and not self defense. A pretty tall order for a spearpoint blade like the Spyderfly. Not to mention Balis in general are viewed as weapons pretty much everywhere.
