    ol' school slipjoint

What is your favorite traditional slipjoint. I go for my Laguiole (Laguiole en Aubrac) and my Henckels stag stockman.

I have an old 1930's-1940's Schrade easy open jack, beautiful honey colored bone scales. I also have several XX USA and 1970's 06247 pattern Case knives. It's a great pattern, 4" closed pen knife, master clip and opposing pen blades, light as a feather and slim as hell, disappears in the pocket.

    I like split-back whittlers, myself.

The last one I had that really impressed me was offered by A. G. Russell (I don't see it on their site anymore).

Sold it (as I sold all my non-locking knives - yea, stupid).

Before that, the last one that I really likes was a cattleman version from Germany, with the good, 60's Case type punch. Couldn't tell who made it as the carbon blades really had a patana (could barely make out Germ..y). It was a 4 inch monster, but great F&F, W&T.

    Gotta' Agree with Chris H.

I regularly carry a Case XX Midnight Black Bone Tested 3-Blade Sowbelly.

I also have a preference for Schrade Old Timer 123OT with the high carbon blade.

    Depending on the season:
In the summer, at least, I carry most knives in my pocket wrapped in a paper towel inside a baggy.
    Most often carried:
Buck Trapper (small game hunting season)
Victorinox Officier Swaks (fair corkscrew & can-opener = survival knife)
    ..Blue handled(8 tools, counting toothpick)
    ..Red handled( 6 tools)
Schrade medium stockman(sharpens better than large)
Schrade Unckle Henry large stockman (when visiting shopping centers)
Catco (Cattaraugus) 3 3/4" two blade (deer season)
    Case XX 4"
