    best method of spyder carry?

i am at work right now at my new job and new desk... where was the first site i hit when i got everything up and running? HERE! when i suited up this morning to depart for work, i clipped on my Chinook III in my right front pocket of my slacks... it carries well despite what some may think... however, i thougth about going to right-rear pocket carry. does anyone else carry their chinook in this location? i was wondering if sitting on the knife or constant contact with the leather on a wallet would have any effect on the blade... i moved the chinook to my right rear pocket and i think i like it better this way.. i dont know.

how do you guys carry and what do you think is the best method of carry? thanks!

    P.S. my new job rocks!

I wouldn't think it would cause any problems for the knife if it's comfy for you. Is the knife on top of your wallet or beside it? I ask because I would think you might throw your back out of alignment if it was too thick on one side.

I don't think the knife will be affected, your pants however will probably wear a little faster in that spot. IWB is in my personal experience usually best for both discreet carry and with minimal wear and tear on clothing.

wouter, i love carrying IWB, i was just afraid that the heat or moisture from the sweat might possibly affect the blade or the screws.. i am probably being over cautious but those were my thoughts initially... is this true?

but i love IWB man... just kinda cautious..

My Tasman Salt rides in the left rear pocket with my wallet, and I find it to be quite comfortable. I forget it's there most days, even when sitting on it.

I carry my Standard Economy in my left rear pocket. It's flat enough that it doesnt wear holes in my pants unlike my FRN Endura. One of the advantages of stainless handles

    Military usually goes IWB @ 1 -2 o'clock.

Doesn't take up pocket space, nor advertise its presence.

what is IWB? in waist band?

I prefer right front pocket. I find the rear pockets are more likely to loose the knife.

Some times I carry a small pe in the right front and a se police in the left rear.

I also prefer the right front pocket. Sometimes i'll position the knife at the top of my pocket, instead of the bottom corner...that way it is concealed from sight

I've been carrying my Yojimbo in the right rear, and swapped my wallet over to the left rear. It's taking a bit to get used to the wallet being over there, but I really like my Yojimbo this way, feels very natural.

I just check frequently to make sure it is still there.

Yes it is. I happen to be a boring ol' right front pocket man myself, but I'll adapt if the situation requires it.

i do right front...if i need concealed for a Civilian, I have a cut inside of certain work pants with reinforced nylon that allows the knife to be carried about 1/2 inch deeper than anyone can see but does not hurt fast access.

I have knives in ever pocket....sometimes two in a pocket...I never find it uncomfortable, I don't like IWB carry for a knife...I'll vote yes to IWB carry for a firearm which I always like close to my body for better retention.....my Chinook sits itself in my left front pocket of my jeans, the main reason is that the knife is so easy to open by way of inertia because of the weight factor, I use it with my weak hand, the Yojimbo sits on the strong hand side pocket, a Waved Endura is in the back left pocket cause I like it for a Pikal grip on the weak side, so my recommendation is where you place the knife should be in consideration for how you a going to use it, open it, and which hand will be dominant in those actions....Something to think about?.....Doc

That's the only part I feel qualified to answer. If I haven't damaged a Tasman, I seriously doubt you'll damage the Chinook.

    No problem.

By the way, if by some stroke of hideously bad luck you do manage to break a Chinook, I want to see some pictures. I don't think it's possible, and I won't believe you with some photographic proof.
